To my knowledge, there is nothing that will negatively effect dreaming as food goes. There are some foods that will help, the best of which is cheddar cheese! I believe this is because of it's Vitamin B content. |

I have a habit of eating a sweet little snack before I brush my teeth and hop into bed. So I'm wondering, does eating before sleep affect your lucid dreaming, or normal dreaming? |

Agreed, i don't think anything you eat can affect your dreaming in a negative manner. Besides, being slightly 'full' before bed makes you sleep easier/comfier. |

Thank you too. |

Sometimes being a little hungry can make you a bit uncomfortable in the night, which may be enough to get you lucid, or wake you up so you can get lucid. However, I wouldnt worry about eating before bed, especially since it is a snack. Eating before bed generally is not super healthy since you are inactive and your body will not burn off the energy, so try not to go to bed full. Some food will help with lucidity, such as cheddar cheese, penut butter, or apple juice, and there are a few vitamins that increase the vividness of dreams like B6, which will increase your odds. If you get pills for these vitamins remember to read the information and warnings properly, but you will not overdose if you get them from food products so it will be safe. If you visit the Lucid Aids section of the Attaining Lucidity forum, you will be able to find a list of vitamins/drugs that increase your chances of lucidity, some general info on them, and which foods they are found in. You will probably also be able to find a thread listing some good foods to eat to increase dream quality, at least I remember reading one or two in the past. |
