It is said that our memories are stored in our unconscious and subconscious parts of the brain. I wonder if anyone has developed the ability to to "replay" memories through a lucid dream. I've noticed that often in LD's my mind can re-create elements from the past, but I wonder if the actual sights, sounds, etc. of a memory could be resurrected from "storage" and replayed. It would seem that you would have direct access to your subconscious memory storage in a LD, so you could review past events (perhaps otherwise forgotten), but I've never come close to it and wonder if anyone has. |

"Dreams are as portals. Flat visions of misty places. But I can write dreams!" - Myst Uru
For the most part that’s where your dreams come from. In the day during waking hours your mind is composed of a model that is formed from schemas, if I spelled that correctly. All your senses are gathered on these schemas and a model is constructed that represents you perception. When asleep it is these same schema that react to each other and of course they would not appear if it weren’t for you memory. But that is why some dreams are so realistic, because it is the same schema that is forming a model of perception. Memory is an important part of the way your mind works. |
