Thread: Has this happened to you before?

I didn't know where to post this, so sorry if it's in the wrong section.

I used to have this experience when falling asleep as a child. I haven't had it again since I was maybe 8 or 9. I would go to bed, and after trying to go to sleep for a while I would have this weird experience where whatever I focused on would seem much closer to me than it really was. For example, I remember looking at my bedroom door, usually it was on the other side of the room, it would instead be right in front of my face. What I was seeing was usually quite fuzzy as well, and it was not static, it seemed to always be coming closer, although never really moving too much. It was also accompanied by a feeling of fear. I hated it, it was like the room was closing in on me.

It's hard to describe it any better than that. I've always wondered what it was, so I thought I'd ask. I'm not sure if it was SP, because I don't remember being unable to move, or any vibrations. Please share if you have had this experience before, because even though it frightened me, there was something beautiful about it, and I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I never had that before. It could have been SP because everybody experiences different things when they are in it.

Did you try to move ? Even if you didn't I would suspect SP , the fear you experienced is strongly indicative of that . It seems it was just HI and the fear receptors in your brain would have fired off no matter what appeared at that moment . I had the ceiling move . One time I was talking to a sweet old lady in a dream and woke up terrified , we were just talking! but the fear we experience doesn't always have logic .

Aye, it might be SP. Or it might even be a panic attack caused by anxiety.
When I was younger, I used to get panic attacks once every few months. I never knew what they were, so I'd just have to wait it out. Wasn't pleasant :/

Panic attack sounds like the problem.
