One gram is about equal to the weight of one penny, I believe.

Just weigh it the best you can.

EDIT: Well, you're a Brit so you wouldn't know, eh.

I have a thing of seasoning sitting here, 1 teaspoon is about 2 grams. I know mass differs, but this is pretty similar in density.

2 Tablespoons of Nutmeg is usually a baseline for those wishing to achieve the narcotic effects. I did a little extra research, because my knowledge was perhaps getting rusty. From people that have tried 1 tablespoon, no narcotic or adverse effects were reported, so 1 tablespoon would be a good dose to try. Or half a tablespoon perhaps, but the more the better, that is until you reach into the narcotic zone, which most people here wouldn't be interested in stepping into. But one tablespoon or less should be fine, with the only possible adverse effect possibly being mild nausea or lightheadedness.

Someone mentioned 15 grams, but that is too much. Probably 3-5 tablespoons. But I am guessing this experiment is for lucid dreaming? If so, it may work, as nutmeg is good for dreaming sometimes. In any case, don't take more than 1 tablespoon unless you don't mind possibly getting buzzed or stoned from it.

I'm going to try it tonight.

well, i'd like to try that...simply because i'd never been stoned...but i'd have to make sure i was off work!

hmm...maybe i'll get some...try half a tablespoon in hot water, sweetened with sugar, before bed.
      See what happens!

Irishcream, if you've never been "stoned" before, this would not be the first thing to try. It's generally disliked for those purposes. Not to mention the fact that downing a whole tablespoon is very difficult, as it tastes extremely bad. I tried taking 2 tablespoons last night at 10:30PM, went to bed at 3:00AM after having felt very little. Dream recall last night was below par, and my dreams seemed to be as well. I recommend looking elsewhere if you are trying to use it as a dream catalyst. Same goes for looking for a way to get stoned, definitely not the way to go. You'll probably notice nothing, other than feeling abnormally hot or edgy. Nutmeg seems to offer very little.

okay i'll leave that lone then!
By the way, what is recommended as a dream catalyst? Besides B6? i take a B complex, which has the recommended daily allowance of 2mg...but isn't it all placebo?
Just a thought...i mean, have any tests been done on these various substances?

I've had good luck with Valerian Root, another herbal that's commonly available. It seems to help me recall my dreams better, and they seem to be more vivid also. Could just be a placebo effect, but that didn't happen when I was trying B6.

I feel like everybody takes drugs just to get dreams or something. As if they weren't already there (and good enough, you insaitable poopheads).

well i put in Lucid dreams for the google search engine and on the side they had some advertisement site it was called www.PotionMixology.com I entered the site and it was talking about this potion set that you can order for a couple hundred bucks . You mix these liquids with these certain herbs and it said it would make you have better Lucidity ,have the powers to talk to spirits and it said it could make you astral project. It sounded so fake i wonder if that potion/drug is even worth the value.

I know these have all been mentioned in various other threads, but I'll mention them again. Here are some herbs and chemicals and vitamins that are known for helping with dreaming and LDing in order of how much I'd recommend them, 1 being the most.

      1. Calea Zachetachichi
      2. Ginko Biloba
      3. Melatonin
      4. B6

Calea is typically smoked, and has been used for centuries by natives for their power to bring dreams. It doesn't have any real physical effects, it is just meant for dreaming. It really does work for most people, but usually only if it's smoked or as a tea. Ginko Biloba enhances memory, concentration, focus, and overall mental ability, which seems to somehow augment dreaming a lot for me and probably other people. Melatonin, the natural chemical in the body to make you tired (converted from seratonin), can seem to boost dreaming. B6, because of it's helpfulness in cognitive enhancement, may help some people with dreaming. There are a couple others I would name, but they are psychedelics, and are probably best left omitted.

Oh my God! THATS what it is! It's the Red Bull!!!

I've been having the weirdest dreams the past few nights (read my other topic).. and until now, I had no idea why. The past few days, I've been drinking red bull to keep me awake at my new job. I never made the connection between this and the intense dreams I've been having.

It can't be a cooincidence that someone posted this topic. It's possible that Red Bull affects people differently....I DO suggest however, that you try drinking a can of it when you wake up. Do that for 3 days (1 can in the morning) and it might produce the same effects it had on me.

If you are really good at controlling your dreams, it'll be an amazing experience.

Let me know if this works for anyone.

      Enjoy!
      We are what we dream.
