Try waking up a bit later, maybe half 6 or 7. The first sleep cycles of the night are very deep and don't contain much REM time, so try not to worry, not much dreaming goes on in them stages, only little bits. Towards the end of the night (the morning) REM cycles are longer, allowing longer and deeper dreams.
As long as you are remembering dreams, all is good, and i'd much rather remember the last dreams of the night rather than the first. They are deeper and have more meaning, most of the time anyway.
