Hey backspaces. First of all lucid dreaming is an amazing thing. It is so much fun and you can learn to control anything in your dreams.
Going into sleep paralysis in only one of the many ways to get lucid. You dont have to get into SP in order to become lucid. Here is a list of all the main induction techniques: http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/lucid-...hniques-66857/
The one technique that involves sleep paralysis (SP) is called WILD. Once you are in SP you can have different hallucinations. You can see images, feel vibrations, etc. I WILD every night and most of my SP isn't scary at all. If it is, I just tell myself it isn't real and continue right into the dream. If you want to learn more about WILDing you can find links to my WILD guides in my signature.
Anyway, if you don't want to deal with SP, there are many more induction techniques that aren't scary or harmful in any way. They are easy to learn and will help you become lucid. If you don't know what technique you want to try out check out this.
Just read around this website and forums and you will find that lucid dreaming is very interesting and fun. There's nothing to fear. Good luck! If you have any more questions or you are confused about something...please ask!
