Critical State Testing - Newbie question

      Hey everybody,

As a newbie who has never had a lucid dream Im really excited about the dream I had this morning. It looks like all the critical state testing Ive stated to do over the last few days (i.e. Are you dreaming or awake??) is starting to pay off. After a bit of meditation this morning I drifted back off to sleep and started dreaming. I was face to face with my partner when it dawned upon me that this is a dream. I told my partner this and she laughed and said "dont be sily... this isnt a dream". I was pretty sure it was a dream though ... so I decided to check and re-check my watch to see if therewas any anomaly with the time that would prove that it was in fact a dream. The only problem was that when I checked my watched it was blurry, and therefore couldnt conclude or prove to myself that it was a dream ... that's all I recall.

It seems like I was close but i was a little suprise by the lack of clarity and detail???

That's also a good dream sign. Usually a watch shows different times when looking again or the numbers change all the time or it's just blurry. Generally, if you notice anything weird it's most likely a dream. Another good reality check to make sure you're dreaming is pinching your nose and trying to breath through it. If you can breath, you're in dream.

It's great to see that you've already got that far. The lack of clarity and detail is also normal in dreams. Sometimes they have better quality, sometimes worse. If you want to make your dream clearer, you should try shouting "Clarity!" in your dream. You can also try other "commands" depending on what you want to achieve. Shouting usually works really well.

      I hope this helps

you can also just examine something (like a chair or object that’s laying around) by examine closely i mean put all your attention on that one object and look at its details (the individual threads in a carpet, the ants on the ground etc...) and when you look up you’ll find that everything looks detailed and more lifelike that real life (no joke)
