      Post Dream, Pre Awakening

I was wondering if people have the ability to view information at will after a dream and before awakening to the real world. After most dreams, I have a short period to view what I can only describe as a catalogue, flickering at high speed and if I concentrate on a piece of interest, I will see it and remember it when I awaken. The catalogue itself consists of videos, photos, people, places, posters, music and poetry among other things. The contents, once contentrated on have a better quality than the dream world, like if you were using dream HD. The feeling I have from this recurring experience is that the information exists outside of time; past, present and future.

Ive been using the experiences to write music and poetry and its changed my quality of life.

Can you describe how you reach this state? Are you lucid through any of this? Do you wake from a regular dream, or a lucid dream? Do you wake briefly, then return to sleep?

It sounds like you are having nREM lucid dreams. Dreams in stages of sleep other than REM can be weird. Depending on the stage of sleep, they can be more like deep thoughts, or realistic daydreams. Sometimes it feels like you are not even really asleep, just lying in bed thinking very vivid and animated thoughts.

It's funny, the OP has described the same exact thoughts I had this morning upon awakening. The way I saw it in that moment that I was regaining my consciousness was more of shift in dimensions that happens in a split second of our time. This is something new I'd like to explore. The way I would describe it would be as if within dreams there are different dimensions and as you are awakening you might just get a glimpse as to how those dimensions suddenly change into our real life one, and for that very brief second you experience that.

Perhaps this might be one of the main reasons as to why our dreams might not be memorable all too often?

Something I'm exploring and would like to write more about.
