Thread: What is that extreme vividness that you get sometimes at the beginning of a LD?

I've been lucid dreaming for years, even before I made my account here on DVs and these experiences have always been very rare for me. Actually I would like to know more about them and have as much as I can.

I've noticed that through dream recall and having the expectation of being in a dream allows us to be more aware of our placement in dreams. Otherwise, dreams are just ideas, sounds and pictures where there is no personal self.

In other words is the degree of lucidity connected with vividness? Could this possibly be why I only have these experiences at the beginning of lucidity? I remember my very first lucid dream was this way.

I think lucidity is connected to the vividness of your dreams sometimes. When you become lucid you become aware. When you become aware you pay more attention to your surroundings and become attached to them. This extra attention would cause your mind to give the dream more detail and become vivid. This is just my theory on it though.
