Thread: I'm sort of new to lucid dreaming.

Can anyone help me? I'm sort of new to Lucid Dreaming. I'm 12. I first heard about Lucid Dreaming when I was about 10 and gave up when I was 11 mostly, because of frustration. I can't seem to control them no matter what.

The closest thing I ever had to one was me basically like floating around in a room of red carpet and a bunch of heads surrounding me of the same person and I had control but it last about 6 seconds. More of a nightmare than a lucid dream I think. Can anyone help me? I never kept a dream journal. I'm thinking about it. I usually just go to bed saying "tonight I will become lucid" or something else referring to it.

I was also at one time afraid of becoming lucid because I'm afraid that I would go insane or something else of that sort.

But to answer your question, it all depends whether you were aware that you were floating around the room or what not. It just takes practice! Start keeping a dream journal and get your recall up because that is a sure help. Also, don't worry about going insane, that won't happen! hahaha, just be confident in your endeavors.
