      paralysis in lucid dreaming

Hi all, I am hoping someone here is in the same boat as me. I have had this same problem for about 15 years, where I think I have woken up, but I am in fact dreaming, but I am completely paralyzed and unable to move. Often I get tingles down my side associated with this. This also happens most often if I sleep at an abnormal time (in the day) or if I happen to have broken sleep at night.
For a long time I didnt even realise it was a dream. Only after identifying multiple objects in my room during this paralyzed state, then finally waking myself up and noticing 1 thing had changed, did I realise it was a dream.
It always sends me into a state of panic, as often it's even hard to breathe. I try to use all my strength to move or wake myself up, but it always takes a long time to wake myself up from this state.
Is there anyone out there who has experienced or experiencing this?

When you have REM sleep (the state where dreams usually occur) your body becomes paralysed, sometimes people wake up and are still paralysed, it is a common experience and can be used to enter lucid dreams, one time i experienced this paralysis during a dream, so i guess sometimes the paralysis just passes over into your dreams, maybe you can use it as a dreamsign so that whenever this happens in a dream you realise that it is a dream, a way you could do this is to visualise yourself being in a dream paralysed and then realising it is a dream, do this occasionaly, and then hopefully when it happens for real you will realise you are dreaming, it's nothing to worry about though, it is possible you aren't actually dreaming and that you have just woken in sleep paralysis, where your body stays paralysed but you are awake, you can have hallucinations when this happens, which could explain why things in your room change, in the future just hold your breath and as you disrupt your breathing pattern your body will wake up.
