Not sure if lucid or not? Please help

Last night I had another semi-lucid dream were I wasn't sure if i was lucid or not. In the dream i did my reality checks and i could stretch the skin on my hand pretty far, i looked at words turned my head and the words changed and i could breath while pinching my nose but for some reason I dont think it clicked that i was dreaming because when i woke up it just felt like a normal dream.. when you wake up from a lucid dream is it meant to feel like it was a real day that just happened yesterday? or is it meant to feel like a normal dream.. Im really confussed..

A lucid dream feels the same as a normal dream...

There's the excitement of being lucid, but when you wake up, you will remember it the same as a normal dream, in my experience at least.

I've heard some folks say that you get this BURST of awareness when you become lucid - I have not experienced that.

If you knew you were dreaming then it was lucid

Oh I thought when you wake up it felt like it was real life and you can remember every single aspect of the dream as if it was a real day

Hoboinred, it can be this way for some people, but I don't think it is for all people.

Noobforlyfe explains it very well - the only criteria for lucid dreaming is that you were aware that it was a dream.

Last night for example, I had a lucid dream in which I was aware of the fact that I was dreaming in several different times. But I never really used any powers, and my dream recall was no better than when I was not lucid. Sometimes you are lucid, but you kind of aren't... There's no black and white with it.

As you keep practicing lucid dreaming, you will get better at it, and when you get very good, you will have those times when you wake up and remember your dream as if it happened yesterday. (But by that time, yesterday as in 7/9/2012 will have been months ago! Lol jk)
