Thread: waking from a noise inserted in dream- from the beginning

has anyone else had an entire dream where suddonly at the end you wake up from a real sound to find that the whole dream was leading up to this one sound that you just heard?

i cant remember exactly what happened to me a few times but imagine this: your dreaming for what seems like hours. u are working at a factory trying to create and test a new type of whistle or an alarm. suddonly you hear the sound in real life and it wakes you up startling you, while at the same time you give first test to the new product in your dream. or your making preparations to launch into space and some outside noise finally sets it off but also wakes u up.


does this somehow prove time stretching in a dream has just happened? like did your mind just start to hear it and creat an entire 2 hour dream then you wake up in literally 1 second?

either that or you could read the future! HAHA but really.. like 1 millisecond before my alarm goes off it makes this click sound. And I wake up at the click sound.. before my alarm even goes off. Its crazy. Im just sleeping then I here this very small click and then its BEEEB BEEEEB BEEEB!!!. I wish I could just set it to make that click sound!

hmmm yea im not sure if thats the same thing heh. dude ive got my mind so trained that just by setting an alarm i wake up 5 minutes before it goes off. everyday for a week lastweek when i used it.....

Thats an interesting concept jay dawg, ive had this happen to me many times in the past and have never been able to put my finger on it or express it that well

You hear a noise that wakes you and realise the noise was intergrated in the dream before the noise even happend

It would be interesting to hear peoples input.....

I like the idea of time compression.

i know this has hapend to me on more than 1 ocassion 1 time that i recall i was dreaming i was in a court room and my mum was the judge and she was sat their holding that hammer thing up in the air for wat seemed like ages all of a sudden she hit the table with it at the while shouting my name i then woke up to find my mum had knocked on my bedroom door and had shooted me. now i asked her how long she had been trying to wake and she had only just shouted me but my dream lasted for like 30 mins at least

I believe this type of thing has hapened to me, though I can't recall when. I really would like to hear other peoples concepts about this topic.

Ive gotten this before aswell. Exactly what your describing. And I cant explain it logically for the same reasons. I really cant get my head around how its possible.

Like, I know im dreaming about something. It feels like a signifigant amount of time passes in my dream, and then at the end, whatever random dream event happens with a loud sound, and the noise wakes you up in real life. So how did I know to start dreaming about making the noise happen if the noise just went off now? How did I know the noise, whatever it was, would go off then?

Maybe we can stretch out a dream so it seems like it takes however long, but in reality we only dream for a fraction of a second just as the noise goes off in real life.

Just out of curiosity, anyone remember the noises that have woken you up that this has happened too? I think I remember my cat meowing at my door being one.

I just realized that something like this has happened to me as I was typing this.

At the point in the dream where it happened, me and my friend were trying to hack into some arcade machines in a grocery store. Yes, I do completely retarded crap in my regular dreams. And suddenly, an alarm goes off, but, instead of waking me up my brain worked it into the dream as the store alarm going off, leading toward me having to avoid security. After all that happened, I was waaay away from the store and back home but the alarm kept going off and a relative explained it as god punishing me for something. Then my dad woke me up and told me to turn off my damn alarm.
