      Is It Possible???

Hello everyone, i just got a few questions..and a small explination

For the past 4 days each night i have been going to sleep, i have been listening to the 90min mp3...a couple of those nights i would totally experience parts of WILD--and SP--like lock jaw and my body wouldn't beable to move...But 2 of those nights i just decided to take off my headphones midway through the mp3 and just try to go to sleep..

Now i usually average about 2 to 3 LD's a month..more then likely 2..my last one was about 8 days ago so i guess if you want to consider--i should be having one with in the next 6 days...The thing is...is each day i wake up, i get up on the computer and come here to Dream View, and read about people's stories and reply and basically chill on DV all day enless i got something to do...I do my reality checks--more now then ever...and I'm keeping a dream journal---which im going to start reading over a few times before i go to bed each night....My question...is it possible to lets say "Overload" your brain with too much "Of a good thing" so it wont happen...

Example: Me constantly doing RC's and reading about Lucid Dreaming and everything and reading over my Dream Journal..could it make me...not have a Lucid Dream???

im just curious, i dont know if i should relax off the mp3 for a night and just try plain old sleep.....any tips??

      thanks

yes, that's exactly what happens if you think of LDing too much. The positive side is that once you relax and truly believe you can LD you will be able to do it.

An analogy might help: if you compress spring forever, it will not do any work. Something similar happens to your mind if you overload it with information...

actually i find that my results are the opposite of what he said, if im on here thinking of LDing 24/7 thenusually i have lots of LDs, but also i have lots of false LDs (dreams about LDing) buty also alot more real LDs
~I wake up a little more every time I dream.

Is having 'false LDs' considered a step closer to achieving a real LD? I am curious because I am actually like you. I have been very involved with learning to LD and trying many different techniques. I have had 3 LDs---all false--me dreaming of doing them. I am hoping this would change eventually.

I was like you, thinking about lding all day and always checking this site but once I took a break and only really thought about it as I was going to sleep I was able to have LDs much more frequently. So I think relaxing and not trying so hard and kinda letting it come naturally could help.

That comes out to be about 30 Lucid Dreams a year. That should be enough to do anything that you have planned. Do you have a Lucid Dream Checklist. With two or three Lucid Dreams a month, do you not have plenty of opportunity to try out any and all experiments that you have put any real consideration into?

Of course, if you are looking at Lucid Dreaming as occassions for simple amusement, then I could understand that you begrudge the almost menstrual cycle. But at some point there should be some acceptance of what may be inevitable, and you should determine to make the most of the opportunities that are coming to you.

Remember, there are people out there who have still to have their first lucid dream. To them, 2 or 3 a month would be considered a wealth.
