      Successfully staying lucid

So finally, after a long time of short lived lucid dreams (4 to be exact) I finally was able to stay in the dream and remain aware!

What's strange, is that while I don't remember what the dream was before I became lucid, I do remember everything past then. I basically realized I was in a dream, and said "Oh my God I'm in a dream!" (I seem to say that every single time, for some reason) and instantly afterwards I focused, and widened my eyes saying "I can control my dreams" and I was staying in the dream.

What I didn't expect was that I could open and close my eyes freely without waking up. I then jumped high and through the ceiling of the house I was in, and landed in another room- where a guy appeared and had sex- to be blunt... It was interesting, and felt real (though everything seemed Blurred) but unfortunately I lost focus and woke up.

Some things I noticed was, it was kinda HARD to keep my eyes open during the dream. They felt heavy. Not to mention I felt really heavy in the dream as well. Is this normal? Or will it get better with practice?

Either way I'm really excited and happy that this is all working,

The blurry vision is more then normal. Try to do some stabilization techniques, but i would recommend to do this one: Focus on the small details in your dream for 10 seconds, if everything goes correctly, you should have a better view. It also depends a little bit on your dream. If you had like 6 hours of sleep before you had that dream, it should feel better then when you have a dream afther only 1 hour of sleep. Hope this helps you a little bit out!

All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.

It's best to have failure happen early in life. It wakes up the Phoenix bird in you so you rise from the ashes.

When ever your eyes get heavy, try spinning around as fast as you can with your eyes closed and your arms open. The most likely outcome is that you will enter an entirely new dreamscape. So I'm thinking this will act as a big "reset" button and help you get over it if the problem persists. Hope this helped!

Yes definitely spin. It really helps. It should help your eyes too. Do whatever you can to stay lucid such as rubbing your hands, feeling the environment around you, and other stuff. Since you say this is your first full lucid dream, I w old stay away from sex. It can get you really excited and wake you up. Even if it didn't in that dream, it still might in others. Only get it on in a lucid dream when you are a little more experienced. That might be why your eyes were heavy. Trying to wake up?

      Congratulations!

In your next lucid I recommend you stabilize your dream. That will also help with your heavy eye problem. Here is Dreamviews official stabilization tutorial. Like other people have said, spinning and rubbing your hands together are common techniques when it comes to stabilizing but why do these work? The reason those techniques work is because when you rub your hands together your brain is generating a new feeling and when you spin around your brain in generating new scenery. It is basically all about creating new feelings and senses.

So when you are stabilizing try and use all the senses. Stop for a second and look around you. What do you see? Smell? Taste? Feel? Hear? If you pay attention to things like that your dreams will last even longer

Lol, yeah I definitely wont be trying any sex in a dream in the future. And I will also try the spinning next time I'm lucid to the degree of yesterday.
