Getting used to the 'feel' of the dream world.

      Hello

I'm back (probably never missed me) after a long holiday.

I have had some great luck with lucids recently after a small dry spell, mostly through trying out DEILD which I'm still working on.

What I did want to mention though, is that last night, after a long and vivid dream, I suddenly turned to a DC and said; 'I am dreaming you know.' and was lucid. We had a great conversation and not once did I have to stabilize, or even reality check, I just knew I was dreaming and had good clarity of thought.

I put this down to me now getting 'used' to the feel of being lucid and the feel of a dream, anyone else agree? It's like my lucids are giving me experience in recognising I'm in a dream so I can be more aware. Even before saying 'I am dreaming' I knew something was not right, even shouting 'What is this crazy place?!' ADA practice coming into effect maybe?

Thanks to all on here who have helped me get this far, it's a great feeling to be having regular lucids!

      Cal

      Ooh, their breath is warm
      And they smell like sleep
And they say they take me home
      Like poppies heavy with seed
They take me deeper and deeper

Welcome back from your hols, etc.
I too have been trying the DEILD technique (via Dutchraptor's guide - which is most helpful incidentally) where I'm starting to make progress. Glad to hear you are too.
I might take a bit of a break as my body/mind are starting to rebel.
However, in the famous words of Arnie - "I'll be back!"

I found my break really helped with lucidity, maybe because I kept ADA and RCing in a different environment without worrying about actually having lucids. Dutchraptor's guide is what I read too (amongst others) and I found it very useful.

I need a break and maybe perhaps try some reverse psychology.

Take one! It may help. I went on a holiday with my relatives who have young children. My sleep suffered and I had no time for WILDing or any sort of lucid techniques. However as soon as I got back I have had the most lucids for a long time, I think the break was helpful! Or just co-incidence. lol

I think that I will thanks, as it seems to have worked for you.

With me, I think that I have been treating my body like a robot, or some sort of machine - I just need to stop, reflect, and reset everything. In the words of John Major (The Ex Tory UK Prime Minister) I need to go "back to basics", etc.

      Regards.
