Had 2 lucid nights in a row, don't know how.

So after a year or so I decided to get back into lucid dreaming. I've started frequently thinking about dreaming, as well as doing reality checks by looking at my hand. I've written down a few dreams, though not every day as I get really lazy when I wake up and just want to fall back asleep.

The first lucid dream I had in a long time was yesterday. I don't remember how I realized I was dreaming, but I was semi-aware of it. Then today, I had another lucid dream. This time I remember how I realized I was dreaming. I was downstairs in my house and noticed an object that was strange. Then I thought "I'm probably dreaming". Sure enough, I check my hands and I have 6 fingers on my left hand. I tried transporting myself to another location by spinning around and opening doors, but failed. I slowly woke up a few minutes after attaining lucidity.

There was one thing I did during both nights. I woke up thirsty and went to the kitchen to refill my bottle of water and took a long sip. Then I went back to sleep. I'm not sure if this is what helped me get lucid or not, but I'm willing to try it again tonight. All the lucid dreams I've had in the past were all many days apart from one another, this is the first time I've ever had them in consecutive days. Does anyone have clues as to what it could be?

I bet that thinking about LD ing helped you get lucid. Intent and excitement are important part of the process. Happy dreams

I agree with gab. Also, we often have lucids when we sort of 'give it a bit of rest'. When I have long periods of dry spells, I'd simply stop trying, and bam, lucid!

Also, you mentioned that both times you woke up thirsty, etc. To me, that could have served as a WBTB. And WBTBs greatly boost the chances of getting lucid so that could have contributed to it too.

      Congrats!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
