      Lucid Vortex Dream

Hi ! My name is Oliver, i'm 20 years old and i'm new to this site !
I've been looking around this forum, trying to find an explanation for a specific lucid dream i've been having since I was little. I'm no expert at dreams and other related subjects but have always had intense and lucid dreams.
I don't know if this dream i'm having is a dream at all, but sort of a gateway to lucid dreaming.
Anyways this is what i've experienced :

Since I was maybe 12 i've had this dream, perhaps 15 times from age 12 to 19. It hasn't bothered me before but this last year i've become more and more freightened of it.
This dream starts after I wake up in the night and go back to sleep shortly after.
When I go back to sleep I hear vibrations, like my mind is vibrating and sometimes like something is moving around under my skull.
I then get dragged into this dark, black vortex which sucks me in ,deeper and deeper. I'm always lucid in these ''dreams''.
I've realised that this might be me getting sucked into a lucid dream, but I have no knowledge whatsoever about any of this.

The reason why I write about this is because everytime I experience this I get more and more afraid of continuing into this vortex. It's like I get so deep ,i'm afraid i'm going to ''die'' .
This vortex has always been dark and black but a few weeks ago it changed.
I went to sleep and had a lucid dream which was so real I couldn't believe it and when I thought I woke up , I realised I was still dreaming and so I went back to sleep in the dream itself.
Then I experienced this new vortex which was milky white, I new that this was the dream I've had before but this time it was different.
So this white vortex starts to suck me in relatively slow, and I go along with it, then my head starts vibrating and I get the feeling of someone digging around in my head, then I hear the sond of trains driving over rails and camera flashes. I become afraid yet again ,but this time I feel two hands on each of my shoulders pressing me down in to the vortex, like it's someone wanting me to go further. It now gets faster and I start to see the end of this vortex which is space ,dark with stars shining far,far away and it gets so quiet and peaceful , which strangely enough scares the hell out of me and I pull my self out of the dream.

I had been sweating through my sheets and it felt like i had been asleep for centuries. Then I noticed that I only been asleep for 30 minutes.
Ever since this dream took place i've had a hard time going to sleep at night.
I suspect this might seem silly to you but I wanted to know if anyone knows what this might be? Or if anyone else has experienced something similar

I'd be gratefull to hear your thoughts on this dream!

      Thank you ! /Oliver

Welcome to the forum. That sounds like a creepy dream. I have no idea how to "interpret" it.
The nice thing about reoccurring dreams is that they are a dream sign. With enough practice and concentration you might be able to realize you're in a dream when ever you experience the vortex.

You mentioned that this usually happens when you go back to sleep after a short awakening. Then you experience vibrations.

The first thing that came to mind was that you experienced normal bodily sensations as the body is falling asleep. Basically, these sensations (vibrations, hallucinations, etc) normally go unnoticed, however many people get to notice them in the process of attempting a WILD. In a WILD, the person aims to retain mental awareness as the body is falling asleep. In your case, it seems like you have really good awareness while you're falling asleep. This might be why you quickly feel the vibrations.

When the vortex appears, is it immediately after you feel the sensations? Because if you are aware the whole time from the moment you go back to sleep to the time the vortex is sucking you into it then that looks like a legit WILD. You should take advantage of that! Maybe try to turn the dream around, or imagine the vortex spitting you out into a new dreamscape, after which you can do more things with the dream.

Anyway, the vortex thing could be kick-started by the WILD sensations. I know for sure that many of my WILDs started with me having some kind of tunnel vision that seems to pull me in, and it makes me feel really scared or anxious. From that point on, the dream starts to form. Please check this out: http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/sensat...y-wild-137332/

I have no idea why the vortex would turn white though. How long have you been trying to understand this dream? If you've only started paying attention to it lately, that could cause it to change in some way. Kind of like your brain saying "oh since you're paying attention to this, and you think it's gonna be a black vortex, i'm gonna change it up."

Gaa sorry for the long reply, got a bit carried away lol x)

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

I have no problems with your long reply , you pretty much explained the whole thing for me so thanks ! .... When I was younger I didn't think about it, but the last years I've been curious about it... The WILD thing you're talking about is probably right, cause sometimes I use to try to get back to a LD that I had before waking up....

Yeah , it's kind of like I fall asleep again ,but it's not a dream really ,only the vortex...The vortex and the vibrating sensations start almost simultaneously, and i'm aware from the moment I start to sleep until I pull my self out of the dream..

And I did think about the dream a few times before it turned white.... so maybe you're right about that also !

Thanks alot for your help ! I will try to use your advices the next time i'm having the dream
