Not having/remembering dreams = No DILD or DEILD lucid dreams.

As I have posted in my introduction thread some time ago, from the day I remember myself until the age of 9, I had lucid nightmares every night. EVERY NIGHT
They were like lucid dreams but you cant control much stuff. You know you are dreaming and cant wake up. You only wake up when you are about to die.... Also you have MANY false awakenings and I remember only once i was able to wake up from the dream myself.

Anyway, after this experience, I only have/remember dreams about 5 dreams a year.

I started lucid dreaming for many reasons but this is one of the most important; I AM NOT DREAMING ANYMORE

I have tried everything but I still can't. By saying I have tried everything I also mean relax for a few months and doing nothing in case this was happening cause I was trying too much.

Anyone has any idea on what to do to start dreaming again so I can start having lucid dreams later?

For now I can only have lucid dreams using WILD which is ok but not as good in my opinion as the rest.

Thank you for reading my thread!

(Sorry if the thread is in the wrong subforum)

Do you drink alcohol or do any drugs through the day or before bed? They could have an impact on dream recall, if not my only advice is to start keeping a dream journal which most people will say.

Another thing you could try is writing down what you did during the day before bed in a journey or on a say a word document on a computer. It made me go from 1 dream a night or every other night to usually at least 3, possibly more but I've been slacking in writing them down. It also makes me wake up after each dream which is very useful for WILD, DEILD and WBTB. Hopefully it will work as well for you as it did for me, but I always write what I did during the day before bed and everytime I do I have a huge increase in dream recall and vividness.

I went from 5 dreams a year maybe to 1-3 dreams remembered per night consistently by sheer strength of will and making sure to keep a dream journal, and writing in it every day even if it is only to write a short snippet of a memory, and I force myself to write if I wake up in the middle of the night and happen to remember. I was actually quite surprised how many dreams I can now remember despite starting at virtually 0. If you want to recall dreams, you need to believe that you can, and also lie very still as soon as you wake up, and review the dream in your mind or anything you remember even if it is just a feeling such as feeling sad even though you don't remember why - that would go into the dream journal. Good luck, you can do it too!
