      Dreaming in a dream

I had a dream I was attempting a wild and I felt the vibration stage come on. I started to go into the dream (in the dream...) and I went lucid and looked at my hands. I tried to fly and got a fair bit off the ground but couldn't go any further up. (lost lucidity)I woke up in the dream and told some random girl about the dream going from vivid to a kind of day dream and she finished my sentence for me like it was common. I don't know if I was actually awake when the vibrations came on or not...This dream really confused me. It's hard to explain but I was imagining the dream and it went from vivid like I was there to what I see when I daydream. Was I awake or what!? Any explanations?

As everything is possible in a dream, dream within a dream is also the possibility, though it's just a scene changes combined with false awakenings. And doing WILD technique in the dream can trigger lucidity during scene change, i have done it a number of times, it counts as DILD though.
The sensations that you experienced were based on sensations that you got when you were WILDing before in waking life, doesn't sounds like you were awake.

I didn't want to start my own topic when there was already one similarly related..

      Anyways,

Inception based question: What happens if you continue to do what you did, dream within a dream, several times over? Becoming lucid every time, would it make your dreams last longer?

Nope. All you're doing is changing the dream scenario.
