Having a dream about lucid dreaming. Was this a two-layer dream?

So I just woke up from a pretty late nap (8:30pm) and had one of the most unusual dreams.

I don't remember the beginning, but I do remember that in one "layer" (I'm not quite sure on terminology) I fell asleep listening to a certain song that kept playing throughout the dream (and is now stuck in my head even though I've never heard it before.)

Now in that dream I was dreaming that I was lucid dreaming. I remember saying to myself "Wow! I'm actually lucid dreaming. I can do whatever I want now."

The problem is, I don't know if I was lucid dreaming or just dreaming of lucid dreaming. I honestly don't know if I could control it or not. There were a lot of factors in the dream that I would put if I could lucid dream such as
      -taking place where I live
-having the people I'd want in one
-the events happening that I wanted

But there was also some pretty weird factors in there that I'm not sure how they snuck into my dream such as
-3 clones of one of the local policemen.... running away from me?
-having to pick my nose pretty often and pulling out huge, slimy boogers and wiping them on a nearby wall (?????) -it happened about 5 times
      -My friend owning a mansion
-The song playing in the background throughout the dream (which I now realize was a ringtone I was listening to right before I fell asleep ("Breakdown"))

As some points in the dream, it felt so real that I either actually thought or just dreamed that "This feels too real. I don't think I'm lucid dreaming anymore. That would suck if I already woke up."

My dream was extremely complicated as I dreamed that I was lucid dreaming, and in the dream being aware that I was lucid dreaming but I have NO IDEA if it was a dream about lucid dreaming or if I was actually lucid dreaming.

Any thoughts, comments, similar dreams you guys have?

The only one who can say whether or not it was a LD is you and you alone, however there are things to consider.
One, saying "I'm lucid dreaming" is meaningless, saying something is one thing, understanding it is another one altogether.
Control =/= lucidity, you could easily control a dream without being lucid, and you could easily be lucid with no control (Which sucks!).

I agree with what walms said on control and lucidity. It doesn't equal lucid dreaming if you can control. In addition to that, your dreams aren't necessarily lucid if you just ar e in familiar places and it doesn't mean taht theya re non lucid if you have many weird things happen. I would say taht if you understood that it was a dreamt hen you are lucid. Again, what Walms said.

I have ahd those dreams where I say i'm lucid but I don't turn lucid. However, Whenever I do have a lucid dream, i know completely and am certain of it. I actually think in my head. I can follow a good train of thought, and not just what the dream wants me to tthink. For example, I can focus on tasks and goals and do what I want. Ask youself if you have that and you will have an answer.
