      Sleep paralysis IN dream

Hello everyone, I'm new here. Something strange happened last night and I hope you all can help me understand it a little better. Ok, so first off I've been recently having episodes of seemingly typical SP. Either as I go to sleep or as I wake up. Usually lasts for a minute then I come to. That lead me to wanting to start trying to induce LDs. Sooo, I downloaded an app on my phone which produces isochronic tones for LD induction as you go to bed. I used it for the first time last night. I fell asleep and was then wakened by a loud popping noise, but I was in my moms house with my bed in the living room. I don't live there any more and my bed was in a different spot. I realized that I was paralyzed and I remember my intention of lucid dreaming. Now, this whole time I thought I was in real life. Everything about the SP was exactly how I've expereinced it before. I tried to will myself out of my body but quit because I was uncomfortable. The whole time I layed there I felt the sensation of an air conditioner blowing on the top of my head. I finally wake my body up and I walk around the room extremely disoriented. I go to the fridge to get a drink and I grabbed a blue powerade which I thought belonged to my little sisters but she wouldn't mind. It was frosted on top for some reason. I take a sip and then I wake up for real. Very confused I might add. And my brain felt like electricity was running through it.. So if anyone has some insight it would be greatly appreciated! I'll be trying it again tonight.

      Yo and welcome to dreamviews.
I have never experienced real SP ever, but i have experienced fake SP a number of times, that's what i call it personally anyways. It really happens for same reason as why some us sometimes get dreams about attempting or talking about lucid dreaming, because we think about this alot and it just appears in our dreams, pretty confusing.
But don't be discouraged! This experience can be turned into lucid dream too, also be sure to do an reality check each time you wake up to catch false awakenings like that one.
      Good luck!

Thanks man, I'll keep that in mind definately. Well I tried again last night, but I just remember two very detailed odd dreams. They seem to be more about my real life than normal. I feel close though!

Hey there, definitely agree with reality checking everytime you wake up, no matter where you are.

Anyway, i've had a couple of experience like you mentioned. I would find myself with sleep paralysis symptoms, only to find out it's a false awakening after all. They usually happen one after the other too. I honestly think that you actually woke up in real life, and noticed the sensations of sleep paralysis, then drifted back into the dream, carrying the memory of the sensations with you. That's my guess for what happened to me at least. The popping sounds and coolness are pretty normal for sensations, i always get them when i have my sp episodes. im guessing it's because your real-time hearing shifts suddenly into the one in your head as you start dreaming

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Thanks guys. So far I've been unsuccessful but I feel it's due to the fact that my work has me on days AND nights and it's ruined my sleep schedule. I was on a steady 11 to 7 schedule but they kinda screwed that all up. But once I get back on days I'm sure it will make it easier. Is it still possible to LD with a jumbled sleep schedule? I don't know when I can get back to dayshift.

I had got some of my first lucid dreams when my sleep schedule was just ridiculous and all over the place, so it's definitely possible, though having stable schedule is still better.
