      Ups, and Downs

I Don't know about you lot, but my skill level in dreaming seems to fluctuate.

I can try for a week to have a lucid dream, and nothing happens. Then some nights, I can almost have total contol for the entire night.

Same thing goes with visualisations. Some days I close my eyes, and see eyelids. On others I can almost see the visualisation like a real image in front of me. Even with my eyes open.

There seems to be a pattern developing where if I try too hard, or want the dream too much, it does not happen.
Only when I do not take the task too seriously do I ever progress to any degree.

Does this, or anything similar happen to other forum members.
I would be very interested in all replies/opinions.

I found trying to hard is the worst thing to do and just gets you nowhere.

About the visualizations, I seem to daydream better with my eyes open.
I have never had a proper lucid dream experience yet but I am certain I became lucid last night for about 1 second after noticing I was missing a finger.

I have had 1 really memorable dream 2 nights in a row, the 2 nights before I get barely a fragment.

I used to keep a record on my calendar for this kind of thing. I wanted to see if there was a pattern to why this happened. I have a suspicion that hormones may have something to do with it, which is a bit easier to keep track of for women but I'm sure guys can do it too. So yes for me, I can relate!

You may have just cracked it.

I suffer with a physical reaction to beef products, and through research I have found the steroids, and other crap they put into cows is the culprit.
Searching for a remedy, I discovered a herb that reduces the level of excessive male hormones in the human body
After taking the herb, I can have the wildest nights in the dream world.
      Thanks for the insight

Going to try some tonight, and post back on here

Would you take the herb that reduces the excessive male hormones on the same night as one of those pills you got in the mail? And if so, wouldn't they counteract eachother?

More seriously though, I find that my dream recall, motivation, memory, daytime awareness, etc all fluctuate. So yes, LD ability may well fluctuate, right now though I really really hope it won't fluctuate too quickly because I really want another lucid again soon.
You may say I'm a dreamer.
