Thread: Ever RC'd You Hands & They Are Normal?

Just curious if others have experienced this? Guess it is probably not unusual, but I RC'd last night, still only using the hand check and was surprised to see they were normal, all ten finger nice and straight.

Funny thing is this surprised me, because I still became aware I was dreaming.

Yes, actually exactly the same thing happened to me last night. I checked my right hand and it was completely normal, despite several checks. Then I checked my left hand and all the fingers there were about 1cm long. I already knew I was dreaming anyway; I only looked at my hands for the coolness factor, but other RCs didn't confirm the dream state too.

I've only ever noticed my hands while lucid and they've never been normal, usually my finger count is wrong, sometimes my fingers are wavy. I'm interested in if my hands look normal when not lucid, I've been trying to develop it as an RC for the last week or so; looking at hands is a bit more discreet than other RCs I do and if my hands are always wrong it's reliable too.

I've examined my hands in so many lucid dreams now and every time they are absolutely normal. Using hands as a RC has got to be one of the most unreliable of all RCs. I know opinion is divided on this but I really think that using hands to RC is just one of those things that got popular, made everyone expect it to work and then works because dreams work on what we think will happen.

Thanks for the replies, figured this was not unusual but I had just seen someone else mention that by checking your hands while dreaming as an RC, they will always be abnormal.

Moon I have only been doing the hand check and it has worked for me, I guess though only because I developed dream awareness quickly and easily, at the end of the day the RC is irrelevant. Probably became popular because of convenience.

Oh yeah! Many times, my RCs indicate I'm awake, even though I already got lucid and do the RC just to make sure. On a few occasions, I got so annoyed they didn't work that I spent the entire dream trying desperately to push my fingers through my palm until they went through then I was like HA HA FINALLY

In my one and only "lucid" (I was aware I was dreaming but for some reason I had control over nothing. I was in a plain white and emtpy room. Any reason for this) dream.

I randomly snapped into lucidity, checked my hands and noticed that I hand like 18. And then the quickly started multiplying in kind of a kaleidoscope effect.

It was weird.

Do not worry about having no control, I think this takes time and practice, have been lucid a dozens + times since starting and still have next to no control, mostly get dragged along the dream scene but being aware I am dreaming.

Last night I think I was lucid about three times but poor vividness/clarity and as soon as I felt like I was gaining some control I snapped awake; hence why I went lucid several times, because I woke up several times lol

Okay. I just how I can get lucid again. And soon.

Wow. I can see how that would make you so mad.

Yup, I barely ever become lucid from actually doing the RC. Usually i just use it as an affirmation once I realized that I'm dreaming.
