How to Send a Dream to Yourself

      Hello everyone,

I know that a lot of people who are into experimenting with dreams have probably heard of dream telepathy, dreamwalking, or having a shared dream before...

But has anyone here tried to send a dream to themself, just at a different time?

I'm basically trying to prevent a past event by somehow sending a warning to myself. I have read about people successfully sending their 'past selves' messages through meditation, but that only works if you send the message to another point in time where you were also meditating, so you'd be receptive enough to sense the message. But I never meditated in the past, so that wouldn't work for me.

I did dream in the past, though...so I thought maybe I could send a dream to myself instead. I could warn myself in the dream. I almost always remember my dreams when I wake up, especially when certain things appear in the dream. So if I craft a dream that I know will really stand out to me, I'll most likely remember it and try to figure out what it means.

I know that this probably sounds crazy, trying to change past events by sending yourself warning dreams, but I'd like to give it a shot.

So if anyone has attempted this or knows any information about this, could you please share it?

Any general information on how to make dream telepathy more effective would be useful as well. Thanks.

      Well, wow. Really...
What I can write here is that I had one dream more times, yet even thought I knew what will happen and how, it wasn't enough to make me lucid, so even if this thing is possible it wouldn't give you a lucid for sure.

Well the version of you that is typing this right now can't change your own past. If you were to somehow send a message to a past self you would then create another timeline separate then the one your presently on. Either way there probably exists a time line where your one of yourselves was never affected by this past event so really you don't have to do anything at all.

Just be wary that sending the message might cause the event to happen to happen in the first place.

      Thanks for the replies.

006, my goal is not to become lucid...I already know how to become lucid. My goal is to send a message.

InfinityJester, that's possible, but it seems like experiments can easily get sidetracked by people just focusing on theorizing...I've seen several other threads on whether it's possible to change the past get filled with possible theories but no actual experimenting gets done, so nothing gets proven. So I've given up on theorizing and have decided to just experiment with different methods and see what happens.

splodeymissile, I guess that's possible, but it seems unlikely the event would just undo itself if I did nothing...I've never heard of that happening before, at least.

I don't know if any of you guys have read any of Robert Bruce's books, but he's one of the leading authors on out-of-body experiences. He wrote about contacting past and future selves to literally send messages in one of his more recent books via meditation. I've read it in several other places too...so sending messages through time using telepathic techniques isn't completely unheard of...I just don't know how to do it through dreams.

Well, the way I would do it would be to: Firstly, get a disguise, we don't want your past self to have a heart attack or anything. Find some clothes and maybe some makeup or just look in a mirror and morph your reflection. Secondly, get a time machine, any kind will do. I'd personally go for a delorian. Go back to whenever you have in mind. Thirdly, meet your past dreaming self and either impart your message there or do some Inception style stuff with a safe or something. Finally, head back to your own time and enjoy what you have left of your "present" dream.

If you could somehow mess with your past self, your present self would no longer be the you you are. So if I were you, I would ask myself, "do I like my present self?" If the answer is yes, then don't try to fix it if it is not broken. If the answer is no, then I would suggest finding a more in this moment method of present self improvement, focusing on improving present self (or future self by making changes in the present that improve the future), which could be a major task, which maybe you are trying to avoid and focusing on trying to improve your past self instead? Sorry if this is too blunt, but something to think about, maybe?

Yea take what I said lightly because I have yet to reach a conclusion as to what reality actually is and what it possible. There are natural laws that we do know but that is nothing to all that we don't know. Your right personal experimentation is the key and the most logical thing to do. Who knows maybe you will find the key to the cage and let yourself out.
