ONe thing i have to do every night brfore i go to bed:
write in my journal, not my DJ, my personal one...i get out all my little niggles and gripes on paper.
sort it out in my head, and then i can sleep!!
If i don't write, i lie there thinking about it...it's almost like, as i'm writing about it, i'm thinking about it on a subconcious level and sorting it all out.

At times I like to listen to a trance induction track that someone posted on this website sometime ago. It helps carry you to the right state of mind and relaxation for falling asleep.

I did a search and the link for that track is still working if anyone wishes to give it a try.

Stephen LaBerge's trance induction CD track:

Brandon Heat: about 1.5 years ago, when I just started lucid dreaming, I was suffering from a terrible insomnia. Pretty much laying in bed for 3-4 hours without being able to fall asleep. After a couple weeks of this torture I started taking melatonin to help me fall asleep. It greatly helped me.

yeah, that's the sleep supplement. If you take it regularly, it makes it easier to fall asleep.
you can buy it in GNC, CVS or just about any pharmacy. I dont think you need anything other than money to buy it

It also increases the vividness and enchances the storyline of your dreams.

Another method that I find useful for falling asleep, but very bad for lucid dreaming is: just relax and let go. give in to the darkness in front of you. Like totally surrender your desire to remember any dreams, have any LDs or anything. You may fall asleep pretty fast, yet you will wake up in the morning with crappy recall....

heck yeah fix that chemical imbalance!

i liked what tyrant said, omg DUDE that mp3 is freaky! lmao im telling you its a great mp3 but wow his voice is not the best for sleep induction! its fruity/scary. he sounds like my friends dad, its freaky. spooky

you should also try using the brainwavegenerator at www.bwgen.com i think. use the sleep induction preset. it makes me fall asleep when i use it to try wild...so i guess it works! but since your not eating healthy organic foods, get those melatonin suppliments asap!

Re: Falling Asleep How Do You Do It?

      [quote]

As anyone ever thought it might be the type of bed your sleeping (or NOT sleeping on) If this is as bad as you state, then I would buy a "Number Bed" from Select Comfort. It is garanteed to help with your problem...just a thought...

Hey mate, what you need to do is look at your "Sleep Hygeine". When people talk about the body clock it isn't just a figure of speach. Their is a rhythm the body called the "Circadian System". If your not sleeping well you probably often feel fatigued and this is because your Circadian System is out of whack. (Right now im studying sleep in psychology so this should be some helpful info) To improve your sleep hygeine,

      1. Go to bed at set times of the day and get up the same time every morning. (This gets the circadian system into a good ryhthm)

      2. Only use your bed for sleep and sex. (This programs your body to only recognize your bed as a place to sleep. Watching TV and doing other activities from your bed interfere with this program and can cause diffuclty to sleep)

      3. Don't go to bed too hungry or too full. If you feel empty when you go to bed have a "light" snack.

      4. Having a hot bath 90 minutes before bed raises the temperature of the body. When the body begins to cool down this process naturally puts the body in a sleepy state.

      5. Keep your room dark and quite from external noises.

      6. To help your body clock improve every morning when you get out of bed go stand out in the sun. The sun contains about 2000 LUX (Lux is a measurement). Light bulbs don't work because they are only about 150 LUX.

      7. Don't la in bed if you can't get to sleep. Get up and do something and wait until you feel sleepy to give sleep another try.

Anyway hope this helps. Good luck.

With regard to beds: I have one of those memory foam mattress pad things. After about a month of use, it gets significantly softer than when new. If you prefer a firm bed, it's not for you. It did help my back considerably, though, because I can now do most stuff pain-free. It also insulates more than a normal mattress, so if you often find yourself too hot at night, don't get one.
Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

      Hm....My methods are pretty normal...
I just close my eyes and stare at the light patterns..and after 20 min of watching it..I get really exhausted..and I just give in....
My other method is to just think that I am in my own world..and I can do stuff and save ppl..bla bla bla...it's like I keep a birds eye view of my mind...I use this method the most...

      That's about it.........>_>......

( YES...just what you needed....retarded methods from me. Lol. )

I think I may have insomnia, im usually up till 2 - 3 AM every night.... but what I do to get to sleep is listen to music while on the computer for a while, then go to bed and just wait for the first thing to pop into my mind and go along with the thought and within 15 minutes im asleep.
