      Dream Cocktail

      A.K.A. "Who else loves B6?"

Vitamin B6 is incredible. Honestly it is.

Last night I had a BComplex pill with two valerian pills. Great stuff. Had the longest LD I ever had out of the blue.

I NEVER do reality checks (focusing on WILD). Anyway, I was going through the day and looked at my watch, paused, looked again and thaught "holy shit im dreaming". Most vivid dream in memory as well.

      Great stuff.

Who else has had similar experiences with B6 (I don't know what else it could be)?

      hey bob,

I've tried B6 recently for a few days and the reason why I'm not still trying it is because I can't really say it has helped much - but that's just me.

What dosage are you taking? I believe I have the 100mg tablets and I usually take it with a magnezium tablet as well (I've read that magnezium is like an enhancer to B vitamins). I got really frustrated one time and took two B6 (200mg) and still no LD. It would be great if there was such a thing as "LD's in a bottle" - but I'm not convinced it's B6. However, I will go back and try it again - I'm trying just about everything at this point.

It's great that it seems to work for you. I would be curious, however, to see if your LDs persisted if someone switched your B6 pills with a placebo.

I dont think B6 does anything really, at least not for me.

      Sometimes i take 200mg (yeah its a shitload) + B1, B2, + B12

      and nothing really happens...

I love B6. But haven't gotten any LD's yet as a result of it. I started taking it because I was going through a dry spell of finding it hard to remember my dreams. I'm also in like a year long dry spell since my last good LD.

I take it randomly though. My pills are 100 mg, so I usually take one right before bed, the nights I take it. I have experimented with higher doses, but have found that usually 1-2 pills seems to help. My dream recall seems to be back on track to where it used to be now. Not sure if it's just the B6 though or my own persistence with my dreams.

You're going to turn into a banana! j/k lol

I have noticed a difference in my dream recall the days and nights I eat banana's so I think it does help, although the amount of B6 in them, I think you'd have to eat a truck load of banana's to equal one of the B6 pills.

Hell it didn't work first time. I had taken 50mg B6 for a few days with nothing, and then took a "Bcomplex" Tablet:

      B1 ........................................ 50mg
      B2 ........................................ 50mg
      Nicotinamide .......................... 50mg
      Calcium pantothenate ............. 50mg
      B6 ........................................ 50mg
      B12 ...................................... 50mcg
      Choline bitartrate .................. 50mg
      Inositol ................................. 50mg
      Vitamin H .............................. 50mcg
      Folic Acid .............................. 50mcg

and nothing happened. I took one the next day with two valerian tablets (containing camomile, etc) and thats when it happened.

When it did happen it was awesome, thats all I can say.

Yeah I wondered about the placebo effect, but I highly doubt it, maybe it was B6, maybe something else in the 2 things I took... who knows? It did something though.

      Hey Bob,

what's the dosage on that valerian? I never heard of that, but looked it up and it sounds promising as well.

I've been going through a dry spell myself since like... February - had some LD "hiccups" (as I call them) where I remember being lucid for a few seconds, but then loosing it and waking up - but I don't like to count those.

Yes magnesium helps the body to utilize vitamins B6, C, and E. I have heard on more than one occasion that a B complex vitamin can help with dreaming, recall and lucid dreaming. It will also help with a lot of other things including overall mood. But please be careful when just taking B6 because it can lead to and imbalance with the other B vitamins. It is best to take a B complex so that this will not be the case. You can overdose on any vitamin including B6 and the symptoms for B6 are problems with sense of position and vibration, reduced tendon reflexes, numbness in hands and feet, problems walking, problems with memory, depression, headache and tiredness . So just be careful about how much you take. Really we should not be taking it for anything other than overall health because I believe that we all have the ability to recall our dreams and become lucid. There is not quick "fix" for lucidity... I know we are all looking for one because wouldn't that be just great. If we all just follow the guidelines on this web site anything is possible with the power of our mind. I am not telling you not to use B6... just be careful!!!!

okay, after your sensless banter on vitamins, I've searched my flat and found out that my girlfriend is a bit of a vitamin junky herself! I've managed to find B-complex, B-6 pills, AND some with valerian in them!!

The valerian ones are "Kalms", which are like a commercial "Natural" remedy for insomnia. I might be crazy, but I've taken 2 B-complex's and 2 Kalms. As they're only vitamins, and I'm a fully grown adult (although people I know'd probably dispute that!), I reckon I'd be okay.

We'll see what effect they have. I'm quite excited, mainly because I've been trying to LD for days now, but I've never found the motivation to finish any of the induction techniques! In fact I've never managed to even start them, even though I'm sure I'd LD if I did! I think I'm just too knackered when I go to bed. Anyway, I'm excited because of this plus the fact that I've taken these pills, which, although I'm sure they're purely a placebo (perhaps with some herbal benefits), I think will help me on a subconscious level to remember to complete the inductions and actually LD for a change!

I'm mainly interested in the fact that they help in clarity and realism, because the one thing, so far, that I've not been able to do is have a realistic LD! So I thought if I read up on this and purposefully get myself excited about it, It may help my subconscious mind to increase the lucidity.

      Fingers crossed.

what's the dosage on that valerian?[/b]
      Pills are \"Natures Own\" \"Insomnia temporary relief\".

      Each tablet contains:
Concentrated herbal extracts equivelant to dried:
      Valerian root dry.....................................500mg
      Hops flower dry.......................................250mg
      Chamomile flower dry..............................100mg
      Passion Flower flower dry..........................100mg
      Plus,
      Calcium Hydrogen Phosphate....................100mg
      (equiv. to Calcium 23.2 mg)
      Magnesium Phosphate...............................50mg
      (equiv to Magnesium 10.3mg)
      [/b]
I took two tablets (recommended dosage is 2-3).

Notice the bottom ingredient is a magnesium equivelant, and I think someone up there said Magnesium was a "B6 enhancer".

It said "This product is a blend of traditional, non habit forming herbs and minerals, so sorry to all the wannabe vitamin junkies out there.

Still, the potency of whatever the combo will do will wear off as it becomes habitual, so if you are going to try it I would recommend once a week max.

Give me some feedback if the combo works for anyone

I wouldn't be too surprised about the placebo effect.

Nootropil(Piracetam) can help with memory and cognitive functions so it might also help with lucid dreaming. You can buy it over the internet.

      Ok, look y'all,

      Disclaimers:
It's great that someone has taken the initiative to put out the "disclaimer" and warn us to be careful about taking vitamins. But really, let's move on now - everyone should know by now that too much of just about anything could potentialy be harmful. Thanks for the warning, now lets move on to the issue at hand:

      My intentions with this method:
Personally, I wouldn't want to depend on anything for LDs - my goal is to have enough to where I can somehow reach a subconcious place in my head during an LD and try to establish a dream character that I can require to appear in all my dreams. Don't know if it will work, but that's my goal. Then I'll go clean and sober.

      What I've definitely noticed:
So far I've tried this "mix" of vitamins twice. I had the one LD one night, and the second some very vivid dreams that were not lucid due to my own fault of not doing reality checks, etc. My recall is way better too. It's as if I'm dreaming more! But really, I'm just remembering more, and that leads to more "practice".

      LDing - the skill:
I believe (and hope) that LDing is really a skill and that those "naturals" out there are really just people who have been developing their skill for a longer time than others and were perhaps more serious or determined to succeed. Most, say they have been LDing since childhood (or at least many, many years).

So, as for the vitamins and herbs, I tend to see them more as "teaching aids" that help us not in becoming lucid itself, but giving us more chances to become lucid, untill we develop the skill.

Didn't do shit! But maybe, once again, I wasn't concentrating enough, or maybe Kalms have something else in them that make you too sleepy? (After all, they are to help natural sleep!)

ok, i've never heard of B6, is this a perscription drug, and where can i get it? lol because i have GREAT dream recall, but i can never go lucid, i want to try this and see if it works. How much does it cost, and is there anything at home i can take to improvise, (besides bananas!)

Well, Catrina, you don't have to scroll back too far to see that it's just a vitamin, no perscription needed and can be bought at any drugstore.

If you already have great recall I'm not sure how much more it will help. I think becoming lucid is more of something you have to do yourself by doing those reality checks and such. But who knows, it may work for you - good luck!

      None for me, thank you.

I bought some of the small 100mg B-6 tablets from Walgreens before and took 1 or 2, and let me tell you it gave me the damnedest headache. And also messed with my vision (had a bad "shaking"). I don't need to improve my memory recall that badly.
