      Strange things after waking up

So I haven't been keeping the best track of my lucid dreams, but I believe I have had about 6 now. I had my first lucid dream back in July of this year. Anyway, the other day, I came home from school exhausted since I had to run on 3 hours of sleep. I fell asleep on my bed when I had only meant to rest my eyes. I had a lucid dream during that nap and when I woke up, I felt these strong vibrations in my head and a few seconds later, it felt like I had just got hit in the back of the head. I got rid of it by shaking my head, scared that I would experience astral projection for some reason. I took a second nap, and I'm not sure if it was a lucid dream or not. I can't help but feel like it wasn't your average dream though. When I woke up from that, I felt vibrations again, just not as strong as before and without the feeling of being hit in the head. I fell asleep again, but woke up from that nap normal. I'm positive I didn't go lucid. These 3 naps occurred within a span of 2 hours.

Does anyone know why I felt these vibrations and the feeling of being hit in the back of my head? I've attempted WILDing and astral projection, but with no real success and have never really gotten vibrations. These vibrations after waking from these naps were very strong. If anyone has an answer for me, I'd be very grateful.

No doubt that being sleep deprived and REM rebound contributed to your experience. Also, if you don't usually take naps, the unusualness of the situation can increase your chances of becoming lucid or experiencing other hypnogogic/hynopompic phenomena.

The vibration feeling is common. It's just your brain trying to make sense of unfamiliar input. It could be that you were actually dreaming during the vibrations (a false awaking) and the feeling of being hit in your head was the moment your brain snapped into wakefulness. Or it could be that you were awake but in the grey area of consciousness where these kinds of distortions and hallucinations happen. The difference between asleep and awake isn't so black and white. The transition period can be altered by many things, like being so exhausted and sleep deprived in your case.

I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.

The vibes are the onset of leaving the body or an astral projection. Let the vibs come on and when they level off you will quite likely feel body paralysis which just means your consciousness is or has transferred to the astral body. Nothing to fear except the unpleasantness of getting scared. If you float out just go with it. This is your chance to make some fantastic progress. The knock or bang on the back of your head is a common thing as is hearing voices and or your name being called. It's nothing at all. Just go read up on astral travel and you'll see all this being talked about.
