      Essay on Sleep, Dreaming, and Lucid Dreaming

      for the fall semester in 2007, i wrote an essay on sleep, dreaming, and lucid dreaming. If anyone is interested to read it, let me know! I'll just need some contact information so i can send it or PM, its just at 8 pages double spaced.

      I just have no idea what i got on it for a grade

      Update: I got an A- on it

      For anyone who might be curious, I got to school at fairfield university, the paper was an expository essay for a writing class

      Lahan, just wanted you to know that I enjoyed reading your essay!

      I especially found the following interesting with respect to people who claim that they never dreamed or that they stopped dreaming as they grew older:

      This idea of never dreaming exists because chemical systems in the brain that provide short term memory are deactivated during sleep. Thus, few or no dreams at all are remembered.

      And I found this quote by Tibetan Buddhist Tarthang Tulku to be very true:

      “Dreams are a reservoir of knowledge and experience, yet they are often overlooked as a vehicle for exploring reality. In dream state our bodies are at rest, yet we see and hear, move about, and are even able to learn. When we make good use of the dream state, it is almost as if our lives were doubled: instead of a hundred years, we live two hundred.”
