Body reactions to the dream, after waking up

It's funny how the body still reacts on actions on the dream, even after we wake up. Today i dreamt i was attacked by a snake. The snake jumped at me and bit me on the left side of my neck. I woke up imediately and i still was feeling the bite and a nerve on that side of my neck was twitching for about 10 seconds. The mind and the power of suggestion is a very powerful thing.

I remember when I was younger I took a nap and had a dream where I ended up in a car accident. I was thrown from the car and landed on some power lines, which woke me up instantly. Immediately after, I felt a strange sensation that I can only describe as my brain's attempt at simulating what getting electrocuted feels like....even though I was awake. It was too long ago for me to remember how long it lasted but if I had to guess it was about 10 seconds, like your experience. Brain, why you so weird?

In one of my dreams I was swimming in a cave with dirty water. I could taste the water and it tasted really gross, like if it had tiny rocks in it. When I woke up from the dream and all throughout the day I could taste the water and the tiny rocks.
