Thread: Do we become inured to strangeness through flms and fiction?

I think it's pretty likely, we see so much in movies and games and other media that are completely unrealistic but accept it without putting too much thought into it, so it seems like that could have an effect in dreams when unrealistic things happen, though I think it also has a lot to do with the nature of dreams themselves and how the brain functions during them. Lately with my lucid practices when I'm watching a movie or playing a game I try to pick out moments that are shocking and become aware of it, and ask myself if I'm dreaming as a sort of practice for what it would be like to encounter something similar in a dream. Not sure if it works though since I'm still pretty new getting back into LDing, but it seems like it should help.
