(I believe this belongs in Meta Forum, but eh.)
I'm pretty sure there's a way... I've done it before (a long long while back), I just can't remember how.
Oh, found it. When creating a dream journal entry (click Dream Journals at the top, then click Create DJ entry towards the top right), scroll down and there should be an options section. Check "Restrict entry viewing to Contacts and DJ Moderators" and the entry can only be seen by your friends (well, contacts) or certain staff. You'll have to do this on every entry you make private. Just make sure you don't post anything you wouldn't want people you've added to see.
Aaand, found another thing. If you don't want to restrict it on an entry-to-entry basis, and want to completely make your dream journal private, then go back to Dream Journals, and on the top there should be a button saying DJ Settings. Go there, and a little ways down there'll be some privacy settings--you can just uncheck everything if you don't want anyone else (except DJ moderators) to see it. Just remember this will affect your dream journal globally--all of your entries will follow these settings.
And don't worry, only post the stuff you want to. While some people do post every dream they have, it's common for people to only post the interesting ones and have a private dream journal elsewhere. I've been slacking on my DJ (pretty badly) but once I get back into it, I plan to only post the interesting dreams as well, lol. A lot of my fragments aren't really that interesting.
