My First near lucid dream last night!

Hey everyone, I just thought I would share my experience last night of a near full lucid dream, my first ever:

I had a moment in my dream last night where I realized that I was dreaming and that none of what I was experiencing was real, I remember confronting someone in the dream and saying, you are not real this is a dream you see, look these light switches don't work and I don't live here and you aren't real!

And it's like all of a sudden it went from total control to a loss of control within a few seconds I was being chased by gunmen in black cars and I had to escape into a building with a long hallway of dresses, I decided to hide amongst these pink dresses I liked, and this evil looking woman found me and said, We always knew you were a girl, go get her!!!!!

Then I woke up, coincidentally in the next dream I explored this mansion of a house room by room looking for a room with pretty dresses to once again attain that pink dress I so desired.

What a trip that was, near lucid!!! I hope to master the control in the coming dreams.

Any tips to maintain control over other dream characters actions?
I would rather die on my feet then to live on my knees.

If you knew you were dreaming, then it wasn't near lucid, it was a proper lucid. Well done!

Control should come over time. Some threads in this forum will tell you how to control to a certain extent. You should take a look there. The most important thing is to not panic, as you'll end up accidentally summoning what you don't want.

Well done, that was an outright lucid dream, even if you lost control later on. I get the impression that happens a lot. And that feeling of "I am dreaming!" is also different in every LD I had so far from "yeah nice, I'm lucid. What to do with the dream now?" to "OMGOMGOMGOMG I am lucid!!!! F*yeah!".

Stay calm and focused. Those gunmen have no power over you, you just need to convince yourself. there is no spoon.

Congrats! I also had my first LD through a false awakening today! I almost couldn't believe it~ I woke up and everything in the room looked fine. I looked at my digital clock, it read 8:17. I was planning on going back to sleep when I realized that it should be closer to 8:40 (as I woke up around 7:30ish to use the restroom and it takes a while for me to fall back to sleep) I thought to myself, Huh, that's weird, I'm just going to do a RC and pinch my nose and breathe... I did that and I could breathe through my plugged nostril! It felt so weird so I did it again! I knew I had to stay calm to keep it going. Then I slowly got up and turned around and saw myself sleeping @.@ and jumped down from the bed. I tried to shout "Clarity Now" but it didn't work as work. (didn't think of rubbing hands) So I spun around and saw some colors like black/white/green and then I was at another area in a completely different area in my house. I turned left and saw a table there and tried to make it a unicorn... but it failed T.T Then I woke up...
      Hope I didn't hijack your topic D=

Another way you can keep your lucidity is by rubbing your hands and spinning around, it's super easy and worked for my first lucid dream amazingly! Also touching surfaces works really well. My first LD was last night by the way and lasted for about an hour or more, it's hard to keep track of time in dreams
I'm definitely nowhere near an expert but this is how I stayed lucid for a long time.
