If you mean die in the dream, sure it has happened to many of us. Most describe it as a very pleasnt experience, that is except for the ones that are horribly murdered.
If you mean physical death, then no, I've never heard of that.

and WELCOME to our little Forum

      WELCOME!

Die in a dream, i've heard its possible if your heart has problems, to get too excited, say during lucid sex, to have a heart attack...but thats it!

Dying's never been a pleasant experience for me... It feels like I get jerked back into conciousness, followed by a really loud ringing noise, not to mention being freaked out as hell. Once I got killed in a dream by an evil tye dyed square. Yes, you read that correctly.

      BTW, Welcome!

EDIT: In fact, the day I got killed by the square was the day I found out about Lucid dreaming. Weird.

Since we are talking about death, i'm going to share a cool dream related to death.

I was on a high rising cliff, with no trees, no grass, just the blankness of stone. The clouds were beneath me, i was at the edge. Jump, fly, splat. then i got revived at the top again; jump, fly, splat. then i got revived at the top again; jump, fly, splat. then i got revived at the top again; jump, fly, splat. then i got revived at the top again; jump, fly, splat. then i got revived at the top again; jump, fly, splat.

basically for what seemed like eternity.

You know how everyone has those dreams about falling? I remember hearing an old wives tale that if you actually "hit" the ground in your dream you would really die. I actually tested this out last week. I jumped off a cliff to fly, but I guess I wasn't really lucid enough and I started falling down through a dark cave-like hole. I soon got lucid really fast and thought I better do something to get myself out of that situation, but I decided to see what would happen if I allowed myself to hit the ground. I did hit the ground and then a strange thing happened. I most always view dreams through my own eyes; I don't observe myself as a player in a scene. Well, when I hit the ground there was a flash and I saw myself in the distance. I got up and walked off and then I made myself wake up--really wide awake to make sure I wasn't dead!

You know, I was going to start a post about the exact same thing yesterday, but I couldn't online....Are you expressing my thoughts for me?

Actually, this was almost what I was going to ask about. I was wondering if someone could commit suicide in a dream and wether they would go to their version of heaven/hell, or if it would be version rooted in their subconscious. It wasn't really exactly the same, but it does have to do with dying in a dream...

I die all the time in my dreams. Sometimes, it's the only way I can wake up.

You know, that is one of the methods for inducing OBE. You cause yourself to crash into a large solid object, in your case, the ground.

The theory is that your 'dream physical body' will hit and stick, but your spirit will continue and leave your dream body.

      Interesting........

Not usually, no. Most of the time it's some nasty thing killing me in some nasty way. Seri killed me once, but that's because I asked him to (it was the only way I could exit the Dreaming). And I don't think it was really him. I think it was just a dream construct Seri.

Wow, Seeker, that is interesting. I've never been able to have an OBE. I've tried, but have never succeeded. Also what I find interesting in this thread are the number of people who have said they "died" willingly or not in their LDs. I can't imagine that. I'm wondering if that might feel like giving up control of your dream or LD. I think that "dying" or being "killed" in a dream would make you relinquish your LD power. I wonder how that happens. Is it subconsious?! I value my LDs because I have almighty power in them. You know? Not like in "real life." I have always been able to "save myself" from death and danger in my dreams.

God, I love this forum!! I realize that I'm a new member, but I've never had the outlet before to talk about this stuff with people who understand what I'm talking about.

      Yes, this forum does rock.

I told my mom about lucid dreaming and now she thinks I'm retarded or something. It's much better talking to people who's minds aren't closed.
