First time WILD, am I doing it right?

I recently became very interested in WILD lucid dreaming. I tried it for the first time this morning, I don't know if I did it right or not.

I slept on my back with my arms crossed hands on top of each other, this is my preferred position. I was doing this at 8 am In the morning, 7 hours after I woke up. After 5 minutes, my hands began falling asleep and feel like they were morphing together. 10 minutes later, I could feel a buzzing sensation in my hands. I heard a loud ringing noise, felt like I was smiling into my bed, and got very excited, my heard began beating very hard, and then I suddenly got out of that phase. Was I in the transition to the dream? These times are approxamations. I'd like to know if I was in the transition and any tips from you guys!
