Hi, I'm very sorry for what happened to your friend. It's tough to answer your question, as it's sometimes difficult to classify a dream experience, whether it holds precognitive information or not, or is just simply a dream. However, from what I've read from other lucid dreamers, whenever they find themselves upon information that may relate to something that may or may not happen in the future, they ask during the following nights to acquire more information about the experience in the following dreams. They make their intention to have a clarifying dream about the situation, so as to acquire more information from it. The thing is, dreams don't normally go about delivering a complete message or detailed information about what's to happen, most likely because not everything that happens in the dream carries a meaningful message. It's usually dreamers the ones who have to further search for that information in their dreams, whether it be to clarify a certain situation, or search for a solution to a problem, etc. That's how I see it.
