Thread: Can previous LD's affect/inhibit your future dream scape?

I fell completely off the bandwagon of dreaming 5 months ago. It's was literally 5 months to the day of no conscious recall or journaling, or posting here but I'm back with avengence! I've caught up with my dream journal and am once again reality checking multiple times a day.

Whilst writing down some old voice recorded dreams I had a read of my LD entries (5 so far), and something occurred to me.

As with most people ,flying was something pretty high up on my list of goals. However the mechanics of flying in my LD were quite strange. It was almost like an extreme sport type subculture (called Gliders by a DC), and flying could only be done efficiently in certain parts of the dream world were the gravity was kind of weak/inverted I guess.

My point is, can this kind of set up from one dream, continue on in future LD's? Or can you easily and completely change the mechanics of dream flight?

Depends. I wouldn't put too much weight on the events of one dream. If a phenomenon starts to recur in several dreams, then it can become an ingrained habit/pattern for better or worse. Either way, though, with some intention and practice you can change anything. The very fact that you are aware of it and reflecting on it may already dispell the chance of negative future effects.
