Thread: What do your WILDs feel like?

Does anyone else have this distinct physical feeling of a WILD? For me, there is this initial heaviness, followed by a light weight and cool temperature feeling. When my WILDS beings, I can't see anything, but I can feel my entire dream body. And it feels like my movements are made through some kind of very thick and cool fluid. It's not uncomfortable - it actually feels very nice and refreshing. Once I can see and my dream clears up, the heaviness subsides completely, and is replaced by a much more light weight dream body. But it always feels I'm in some kind of air conditioned room (when I'm really cozy under my covers).

Over time, I've come to realize this feeling is somehow associated with how aware I am in a dream. Because as I begin the dream, I tend to become less lucid and this feeling subsides. But, there are times when I don't lose any lucidity, and this "feeling" sticks around. It's also come back to me during the dream when becoming very aware. Like my body is made of cool air or something like that.

Does anyone else get this or it just me? It seems to be some kind of common theme of my WILDs or even DILDs where I become very aware, for I don't know why.

Interesting. My WILDs are different, the only thing in common is the temporary blindness. Before I enter the alleged dream, I feel a strong, odd sensation which is very hard to describe accurately, it's like a kind of pressure mixed with vibrations. I feel it the most inside my ears, for some reason. Sometimes it's so strong it hurts in a way. Soon after this feeling begins, I start feeling that I'm inside this ghostly, light body, which then rips out of my physical body, like a clone detaching, and then I float away gently for several seconds until I gain vision, or sometimes I can form a dream scene and enter it.

I too sometimes get vibrations that are so powerful they actually too painful to move forward. But vibrations are something, that if I get, will get before all of what I mentioned in my original post. I've felt "ripping" sensations as well, but only when I was really trying to force it. But even that, all of that doesn't change the feeling that I'm moving through some thick cool liquid (or just moving slowly through cool air), etc, just all after the vibrations subside.

For the very few WILDs that I have had, I usually don't get Sleep Paralysis or Hypnagogic Imagery. Thats why its really hard for me to tell how close I am to WILDing. The only indicator that I'm about to WILD, is I usually feel like I'm deep within myself, I know that doesn't make much sense, but thats the best way I can describe it. After I feel that, I usually see a dream starting to form. Thats where, whatever random thoughts are going through my mind at the time, or whatever my subconscious creates, starts becoming real. Images start turning into places, things, sounds, and everything else. Besides that, there is really nothing else that I feel during WILDs at all.

I'm not sure if it's only me.... but previously when I tried WILDing, I felt an overwhelming sensation of numbness blanket over my body. After that, it felt as though I had more than two limbs. Maybe it's my dream body escaping my physical body. Any thoughts?

Mine aren't as pleasant. It begins my head feeling very light and dizzy, then lines and images on my eyelids then when SP hits me its usually extremely hard vibrations with flashing lights and whispers of voices flying past my ears, while all of that happening a very strong feeling of terror and fear comes over me.

I have never had a WILD but I tried for 5 minutes tonight and it didn't work. How long does it usually take for you all?

If we're talking regular WILD and not WBTB, it takes alot longer than 5 minutes, but then again it depends on the person. WBTB may take 5 minutes, but WILD usually takes me around 30 minutes to an hour.

Wow that is a long time... yea to be honest I didn't expect to have one in 5 minutes but I just wanted to see what happened basically trying to meditate myself into a lucid state. I have meditated for 20-25 minutes before but never with the intention of becoming lucid (because I didn't know about it). I just don't think I have the patience to dedicate to that practice but that could change. Maybe the time I spend playing video games will be spent WILDing ha. Stick to DILD and WBTB's for now though.

Hell yeah man, DILD is the way to go for me. If you want a really shortened version of a WILD, try DEILD. That takes no longer than a minute to do.

Ahh for sure will try that tonight. I always have to get up and turn my alarm off... this time I will set it to go off by itself. Cheers!
