      Sleeping too Deeply

arggggg... i think i figured out the problem. ive been falling into such a deep sleep, i guess im a "heavy sleeper" becuase i just got an alarm clock tha tmakes the loudest most obnoxiouse noise.. and it doesent wake me up, i usualy set it for 2am becuase ive found that when i remember entire dreams thats when ive woken myself up.

anyway so im a "heavy sleeper" and have disguting recall... any ideas how i can make my body sleep less heavily?

If you have a very random and disorderly sleep schedule, you can go into some pretty deep sleep. If you don't have a set schedule for going to bed and waking up, try switching to one, it might help.

      That's a really good idea

I have the same problem if I don't get enough sleep one night, then the next night I sleep sooo long and sooo deep that I remember few to no dreams.

I only sleep a few hours a night. I've done that most of my life.

What I've noticed graphing my REM sleep with my detector is that my sleep cycles have become compressed. From 90-100mins down to 50-60mins.

If I oversleep, much of that is spent in longer cycles of 75-100mins.

I don't want to hear about the brain from someone that doesn't have one.
Nor do I want to hear about evolution from someone that hasn't evolved.

      Hey Dreamers,

Well, I'm not sure. But if I was having that problem of sleeping too deeply, I would try adding a bit of caffeine in my system later on towards the evenings.

I'm not saying to pound a case of Mountain Dews or anything crazy like that! Maybe have a cup of tea (or a softdrink). But not right before bed, more like an hour or two before - this will give some time for the caffeine to 1)enter your system 2) start to leave your system so it doesn't keep you up all night.

Basically, what you'd want to do is have it in your system (in low dosages) after you've fallen asleep.

      Might be worth a try

Lol I get you. That used to happen to me allot, and Every time I bought a louder alarm, but it dint work for me. So what helped me was to like really stress my self out about something important I had to do the next day early and think that if I dint wake I died or something(all of this before going to bed), and it kind of worked until I got used to the alarm. after u get used to it though, try not to change it or it will all go to waste.

From what i hear if your a heavy sleeper you tend to not remember your dreams when you wake up this might not be true for all people but for me it is, when i go to sleep tired i wake up dreamless.

Try the caffeine idea. A chocolate bar or small coffee before bed should keep your mind active enough to enter REM much more frequently and keep your brainwaves on an REM level.
Never stop searching for truth. In your search you may think you have found it, and perhaps you have, but if you hold on tightly to a single thread it will fray and it's greater meaning will become lost. There is always more truth stretching deep beneath the surface that promises to reveal ever greater the infinite, interwoven fabric of truth, woven in the looms of Heaven.
