suggestions on what to do in LD

Hello, i have been dedicated to practising lucid dreaming for about 1 year now, and have had great success. I have my ups and downs, but feel i have progressively good results each time... from the beginnings in which i could barely fly, needed to learn how to walk through walls, and fended off attacks in my lucid dreams.

what i would like to ask is... does anybody have suggestions on what i should do while in the astral?

i have taken courses in the past with a very spiritually-oriented group that teaches astral lucid dreaming... they have been really great, and i definitely have a viewpoint that lucid dreams can be used to learn about ourselves and the world we are in.

i don't intend to use lucid dreams simply for fun and adventurous experiences, but lately i am feeling that my mind is projecting alot into the lucid dreams i have. i am concerned that what i have been taught is making me approach lucid dreams in a particular way, and i now need to question my approach. i feel i need to explore, and i would like to travel in my dreams to exotic places, like the pyramids... i have been trying to contact spirit guides in my dreams, to affirm whether or not lucid dreams exist on an objective plane of reality (i.e. astral plane). a dillema here is that if one appeared, i still wouldn't know if my mind is creating it or not.

so, i am hoping to just explore in lucid dreams, test out the nature of these experiences, and improve my abilities to stay lucid...

truthfully, my ambitions are still to explore these experiences for any spiritual potential they have, rather than simply flying around. my problem with my lucid experiences has been that when i am there i don't really know what to do. i don't simply want to fly around goofing off, because i somehow feel it is wasting my time. perhaps i need to use my imagination and creativity in lucid dreams, but again my dillema is this... i am wary of "projecting" onto my lucid dreams, in case we actually do visit the astral plane during dreams. i want to experience the astral for what it is, not have a glorified dream where i can control what is happening... but i don't have any solid reason to totally believe the astral exists.

i hope all this made sense, and if anyone can suggest things for me to practise and try, it is appreciated. thanks!

Clone yourself and watch everything from 2 pair of eyes?
I don't know, the possibilities are endless.

      Dear Concrete Jello,

For one with something of a spiritual turn, you might enjoy trying the efficacy of different Prayers and Mantras from some of the proven Higher Religions and Spiritual Traditions from around the World.

AUM is an extremely powerful Mantra. I have had wonderful experiences with the 'Hail Mary' and it has been reported to me that others have had breakthrough spiritual successes with the "Our Father" ... or what non-Catholics call the 'Lord's Prayer'. Or, now that I remember, I too had had some luck with the "Our Father". I had heard of the great success that others had had with it, and tried it once in a dream, and was given a Book that glowed with White Light, from a little window that substituted for an embossed Title on the hard cover.

I had never been able to invoke the presence of any God or Saint by simply calling them forth... or not in that particular dream. But what I believe might be happening is that the evocation of any God, Saint or Angel must be considered as a form of application, and in subsequent dreams, one can find oneself in the presence of such Spiritual Entities. For instance, in one of my 'Hail Mary' prayers, I remember being swirled up in a Vortex up to Heaven where I quite lost continuity of consciousness and remember only comeing down after I had been going up. It left me wondering whether it was impossible to remember things up past a certain point. But the next week had me dreaming of being in the very Presence of the Blessed Virgin -- not where I would evoke Her Presence, but in Her Office Building and Corridors of Heaven.

Then there have been numerous Gurus in my dreams. Again, I never had to evoke any of them, or if I did, they never came when called. I have a feeling that Dream Gurus are more like Cats than Dogs. They will come, but not necessarily at exactly the time we call them. I have a feeling that when we do Dream Mantras and Prayers, from various Ancient Traditions, that we attract the attention of those Spirits, who in the past, had repeated the same Prayers and Mantras. So, by using these Prayers and Mantras, we tend toward the acquisition of these Spiritual Patrons on the Other Side. they become aware of us and extend to us their sponsorship... occassionally popping into a Dream once in awhile.

I don't know your particular religion, but I've been told by gnostics that a good way to evoke spiritual masters is to use the evocation: "In the name of christ, by the power of christ, by the majesty of christ, I invoke you, _______, please take me to your temple so I can speak with you" Divine inner father is probably the one you'd want to speak to. He will let you know the feeling of what is real or what is not in the dream world, or astral plane, and can teach you things about yourself. You can also speak to Samael Aun Weor (the leader of the modern gnosis movement, now dead).
It's important to note that gnostics don't use "Christ" as Jesus Christ, or Jesus of Nazareth, but rather the Christic force, that of purity and understanding.
Other than that you can try and find a spirit guide, or interrogate a DC for your subconscious. The truth is, truth is subjective. You'll never know if something is real or reality, you can only believe it. The dream world can affect your beliefs, but they can't tell you the truth. That's why it's a good thing to accept all beliefs IMO. If you are of a standpoint (which it seems you are) that the ego is lesser than consciousness or enlightenment, then messing around in your dreams can make you believe that the ego is worth it, or speaking with certain DCs can assert that it's not. Either way, it's up to you.

Also, if you have any other posts like these, I'd put them in the "Beyond Dreaming" forum. I think you'll find you get more legitimate responses.
      That's my two cents.

EDIT: Also, more suited to your predicament possibly. If you speak to someone posing as a higher power in the astral, try saying "In the name of Jupiter, father of the Gods, I conjure thee, Te Vigos Cosilim", it's supposed to sort out your minds conjurations, as well as demons acting as angels, and instead bring the real master to speak to you.
