Well you dream while you are sleeping, so lucid dreams are possible just when you sleep...

If what your asking is can you become lucid after you are sleepign, and not become lucid by like WILDing then yes

Ive tried the "im goiung to lucid" technique but it has never seemed to work.

What the hell does a blindfold have to do with anything?

If you find a blindfold helpful then go for it. From your questions and comments you appear to be very new to lucid dreaming. Read the tutorials, a great deal of good information can be found there. Reality Checks through out the day will help your concentration. Keep practicing the "I want to have a lucid dream" thought at bedtime and it will become easier as time goes by. Mostly, just give yourself time. Some of us do this without any problems and some of us struggle for basic recall.
