      First real lucid dream

      Hey guys!!

I would like to formally introduce myself to the dreamviews community!!!

I plan on becoming very involved on here, including scanning every day for anything I can help with with anyone or even learn!! However, atm I am a very amatuer LDmer Although I know many of the mainstream tactics used to accomplish and keep lucid dreams, what I lack is experience. About a week ago, I had my first lucid dream and woke up more excited then I have been in a long time.

So I immediately went online (I have been sick all week) and researched lucidity in dreams for about 3-6 hours. I am going to talk about my lucid dream in a minute, and my current predicament and if anyone could give me any tips I would be really grateful. So I started keeping a dream journal and using the get up write go back to sleep theory ( Or whatever that is XD ) Every night waiting about 5-6 hours every night to maximize my chance of running into a lucid dream. Every night as I fall asleep I tell myself I am going to wake up in my dream, I will remember my dream, and the next place I am going to be is a dream. Every 15 minutes I have an alarm that asks if I am awake and I usually pinch my cheek or look at my hands. I have had 2 pre-lucid experiences and feel I am getting very close!! [/COLOR]

My lucid dream pretty much went like this: Am I dreaming? I am dreaming. Let me move that building. Hmm didnt work... How bout that one.. *starts moving, teleports to building, what th- world melts and I wake up.

Ok So that is pretty much it I really would love any support or mentors that can help me through being able to have more lucid dreams I would be enthralled!!

P.S. umm, how do I change my profile pic

      Thanks for your time <3

      Welcome to DreamViews

Well, your sleep theory thing is formally called WBTB or Wake Back To Bed
I think keeping a Dream Journal Is A Great Start for beginners, and I would recommend trying the WILD (link removed) or Wake Induced Lucid Dream Technique. I linked a tutorial on the acronym WILD, so you can see how to accomplish it.

WILDs are pretty cool because you get close to 100% lucidity on the first few tries.
Be warned: there is SP (Sleep Paralysis) when trying this, but it's not even scary even though others say so

Doing RC or reality checks are also a great way to increase chances of lucid dreams because you might do it in a dream, and become lucid.

To change your profile picture go to Control Panel on the topbar.

I can help you when you need any help for getting started in lucid dreams. (Add me as a friend)

Actually, Sleep paralysis is a pretty rare phenomenon for most people, and not really a requisite or even a common occurrence in the WILD method. There's a great thread about it: Sleep Paralysis Explained
