Dreaming that you are lucid, while not lucid

Tonight I dreamt that I met a nice lady behind a gamestop counter, and we decided to make a dream together.
Suddenly, we were flying in space. We flew into this gigantic golden/white.. thing. I can't remember anymore when I think back.
But the weird thing is, when that dream we created inside the dream started I thought to myself "oh this is a dream", and then I was 'lucid'. But I wasn't lucid folks.
What kind of stuff is that. Anyways, I've been really consistent on my dream journal lately, writing about three pages per morning.
I think I'm finally on my way to getting my first lucid dream.
What do you guys think of all this?

Undoubtedly you are on the way there! I keep an ongoing tally of references to dreams inside my dreams. For every reference to a dream I have 1 lucid dream. Interesting correlation!

Being lucid in a dream is great...but almost as great is being "present" in the dream. This occurs for me when I am "almost" lucid....when I see something weird but don't quite connect the dots. Usually those are memorable dreams. So there is a whole spectrum of lucidity out there. Having a dream in a dream and being "lucid" in the 2nd level is a form of lucid dreaming...just a lower level.

that sounds like a false lucid!! they've happened to me before too c: but don't worry, that's a great sign that you're thinking of lucidity enough for it to carry over into your dreams. you're well on your way to your first lucid dream!
