      Trouble spawning dream characters

      Hi everyone,

I always seem to fail at spawning dream characters. I keep calm and have tried different tricks such as opening a door or walking around a corner with the intent of the dream character being there, but nothing seems to work.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I've tried for a long time to get this to work and have never had any results.

A possible reason for this is because whenever I try to spawn a DC, I'm not very lucid or rooted within the dream. I just have the idea of spawning someone and I go for it. I know I am dreaming but I don't give it too much awareness because I'm focused on spawning a DC. Does this seem like a valid reason? Any tips would be very helpful.

      All the best,
      Ajna.

Try focusing on your dream more before attempting to do anything. Focus really hard on your surroundings, make sure you are completely in the dream, and then try whatever you are going to try. Also, have no doubt that the DC will be there when you open the door/go around the corner. Being unsure will just make it harder to do. Finally, try giving yourself a logical reason for why they could be there.

      Good luck ^_^

When I want a DC, I just put my hand behind my back and call for somebody. Usually a DC touches within a couple of seconds and is there when I turn around. It works for dolphins, too!

I do the same as what Dolphin recommends and it works most of the time for me.

      Alright, thanks guys

I will try those out. The hand one seems quite innovative, and I've heard if you have the slightest feeling of doubt it makes it nearly impossible. Is shouting their name or something like that any good? I suppose it's more of an aid rather than a technique per se.

What has worked for me in the past is to ask a random DC to find the DC that you want to see. Also you may want to try to fly up high and spot a random house and expect that house to be the DC's house and fly to it. The door and around the corner thin rarely works for me.

Er, I'm having problems with DC as well. I have no trouble spawning the DC I want to see, but most of the time my spawned dream characters look... wrong. Their appearance, voice, body - everything is different from what I want (and expect) to see. Even if I try to change it or call another DC, nothing works out.

I think u spawn dream characters all the time, just unawares of how ur doing it. Trust that some part of u is already doing it well and frequently, trust that part of u to do it the way you want. That state of relaxed trust will manifest ur goal

My guess is that when you try to force a certain DC who isn't supposed to be part of the dreamscape i.e doesn't 'fit in' to the plot of the environment it manifests as a distorted version of that DC. It could also be because of certain emotions towards that DC or something along those lines resulting in the way they appear or sound. I guess you could try some mindfulness techniques while visualizing them, try not to put any mental projection onto them. Just picture their face and watch your thoughts rather than identify with them while doing so. You'd have to get into a mindful state before you try this to get any result.

      Hope I've helped with something.

I suppose the same kind of concept could be applied to real life and achieving goals. This makes a lot of sense to me.

I have really crappy dream control, so I can never seem to summon up someone on command.

What I do is sit down on the ground stubbornly and resolve not to do anything until they show up. I don't know why that works, but it usually does.

If the usual stuff doesn't work for me then I usually pull a phone from my pocket and using voice command ("Call *insert name*") I call the person I am to summon. I then talk to the person and ask where they are etc... I usually end up seeing them whilst they are on the phone with me

That's cool. I bet the phone looks quite weird in a dream?

I've actually tried that technique before, but nothing happened. For some reason if I sit down in a dream I jusy wake up.

I had a Lucid Dream last night and I tried than hand technique, worked like a charm. Feels really cool when you feel them grab your hand. Thank you Dolphin!

I've had various types of dream phones appear. Had some older looking models resembling some old NOKIA, had a blackberry lookalike and a quite modern one that was just a screen. I usually feel weird using voice control when it's an old phone since it probably wouldn't be able to do that. Other than that it looks quite stable and normal. Trying to read messages in it is a pain though. It feels so weird because it goes all over the place and not where I usually want to go.
