      Problems dreaming??

I've been trying hard to lucid dream the past five days using the DILD method but only 2 out of the 5 nights i remember dreaming at all. is this normal? I want to dream every night to give myself the best chance in a lucid dream

I reality check all day long probably more than every half an hour.
My sleep schedule is from 2:00am-9:30am.
Before sleeping i think "I want to be lucid"

Please let me know if theres anything im doing wrong or if i should try the WILD method maybe? I can't lucid dream if i can't dream at all. Thank you!

There would be no harm in trying the WILD method. You can always go back to your DILD routine if you don't like it.

you might try sleeping from 1:30am to 6:00am then wake up and then go back to sleep to bring your intention closer to your better REM periods.

A good way to remember your dreams is to wake yourself after every dream, tell yourself you will wake after every dream (and drink a good bit of water so you'll want go get up after every one. but when you wake up don't head off to the bathroom, lie still and try to remember then journal, then go and then drink more water . Otherwise use alarm to WBTB (wake back to bed 4-5.5 hrs into your sleep)

If you want a bit of extra recall try like 50mg of B6 maybe take it when you wake back to bed or on second waking if you wake after every dream.
(don't take more then 50-75mg per day on average)

How often do you remember your dreams when you're not attempting to DILD? It's important to have good recall before you start trying to attain lucidity. Be sure to journal your dreams every morning (even if it's just tiny fragments that you can remember), and try to get your recall to at least one dream per night. You may even start to recognize some helpful dream signs that could help you improve your chances of a DILD.

I've had very tiny fragments. i've never thought about them as dreams but I'll definitely start writing them down. also i know little about b6. can you link me to any threads that talk more about it? I've been thinking about ordering alpha brains. I've heard from people that say they work and people that say they don't or are overpriced.

      It is a vitamin

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_B6

'Sensory neuropathy typically develops at doses of pyridoxine in excess of 1,000 mg per day, but adverse effects can occur with much less, so doses over 200 mg are not considered safe.'

'The tolerable upper limit has been set by the US FDA at 100 mg/day'

There are many thread that talk about B6 it generally improves recall

most available doses in stores are 100mg or 250mg (which is too much for every day)
but you can find 25, 50 and 75mg too

Effects of pyridoxine on dreaming: a preliminary study. - PubMed - NCBI
      'Abstract
The effect of pyridoxine (Vitamin B-6) on dreaming was investigated in a placebo, double-blind study to examine various claims that Vitamin B-6 increases dream vividness or the ability to recall dreams. 12 college students participated in all three treatment conditions, each of which involved ingesting either 100 mg B-6, 250 mg B-6, or a placebo prior to bedtime for a period of five consecutive days. The treatment conditions were completely counterbalanced and a two-day wash-out period occurred between the three five-day treatment blocks. Morning self-reports indicated a significant difference in dream-salience scores (this is a composite score containing measures on vividness, bizarreness, emotionality, and color) between the 250-mg condition and placebo over the first three days of each treatment. The data for dream salience suggests that Vitamin B-6 may act by increasing cortical arousal during periods of rapid eve movement (REM) sleep. An hypothesis is presented involving the role of B-6 in the conversion of tryptophan to serotonin. However, this first study needs to be replicated using the same procedures and also demonstrated in a sleep laboratory before the results can be considered certain.'

B6 sounds really interesting. Can I pick it up at my local pharmacy like CBS?
Update: had anther dream I remember vividly some parts of it I scribbled down in my dream journal. Still not lucid though. I think a problem the past couple days was waking up at 8 for like thirty seconds but being tired and sleeping till 9:30 when I had forgotten all the dreams I had before 8. Is there anything I can do to work on vividness of the dream without takin any vitamins or supplements?

yea CVS will have it, just don't buy the 250mg or something you'll end up with nerve damage if you eat that every night

It works best with 5HTP, take the 5HTP then go to sleep, then when you wake back up take the B6
B6 catalyzes the conversion of 5HTP into Serotonin, and Serotonin can't cross the blood brain barrier
so don't take them at the same time. Other wise all the Serotonin won't be in your brain but in your stomach and make you feel sick

Don't take if you use SSRI or something you don't want too much Serotonin
but B6 in moderation is good for not just recall
      but memory in general
