Thread: FIRST LUCID DREAM! Also, string of FAs, is this normal?

Well, I had my first ever lucid dream last night

I had a dream before the lucid that I had accidentally cut my hair too short, and I was so upset that I woke myself up (not really!). I had a FA right after this, and I immediately looked in the mirror and saw my hair was still short. I was thinking "HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE" that I cut my hair in a dream and then it happened in real life

So, I did a RC by looking at my hands, didn't work. I got scared that this was really real. I looked at a clock, nothing. So I did the last RC that I knew, and plugged my nose and tried to breath. It worked!

I was so happy.
I'll be posting a DJ entry soon with all of it if you want to read it (kind of weird because I remember 4 dreams from last night in addition to 5 FAs which I'll get on to now)

Anyways, about the string of FAs

I "woke up" from a dream and both of my dogs ran into my room almost immediately, jumped on my bed, and started barking at the door. I was kinda freaking out at this point, and then this girl

peeked her head inside the door.
I began yelling that she wasn't real, although my voice was very hoarse and was barely coming out. A voice said that I had passed the first FA, and that I had 20 more to go until I could wake up for real.

Almost immediately after he said that, again, I "woke up" in my bed. Dogs weren't in this one. My dad walked into the room. Nothing creepy happened, then the voice came back again, saying I had passed.
Don't remember what the third one was, although I do remember it happened.
The fourth FA I had consisted not of a person, but of disco walls. All of my walls were replaced by one of those disco floor things that change colors. So, my walls were having a seizure and changing colors every millisecond, before I finally woke up for real.

Has anything like this ever happened to you guys?

Nice, congrats on your first LD!

I have definitely experienced FA cycles from time to time. I'm not sure what causes them, but it's a good reason to RC every time you wake up so you don't miss opportunities to continue LDs. Some of my longest LDs have actually been through recognising FAs and realising the dream wasn't over yet.
I personally find nose plugs are the most reliable, as you found in your dream, but I like to do a couple of different RCs to be sure.

Keep it up and I'm sure there'll be many more LDs to come! (Hopefully with nicer DCs next time... )

Congratulations on your first lucid dream. Levitating a garage and finding two sexy ladies inside, sounds like one to remember fondly

I've had strings of FA's before, though for me they tend to be rare. I believe they happen when you're just at the fine line between waking and sleeping/dreaming. Your clarity is causing you to awaken, but the dream sensations you're still having keep pulling you back into sleeping/dreaming, causing a sort of jo-jo effect until you either wake up fully or fall back into a deeper dream.
