      is this a dream?

usually around the later stages of my sleep when im close to waking up i have lots of short little sleeps from around 20 mins to an hour. in these parts i feel like i ave a dream but then it just doesnt feel dreamy. it feels as if i am just closin my eyes and thinking about stuff. however the stuff i think about are the types of weird thigns that i get in dreams. so iwas wondering if these are dreams or am i just in my bed thinking about the most random stuff, because i feel like im awake but just have my eyes closed.

OH. I get this very often. I'm pretty sure it's just the early structuring of a dream forming. You possibly just have a little bit of consciousness during hypnogogia and you're experiencing the hallucinations. It just started faster because you were tired.

I get this every afternoon nap at the start until I fall asleep or pop into one of these thoughts

      Hey there,

Personally, I think the hypnagogia which you are experience are actually the onset of dreams. They're vague and shallow at first because your senses are still being flooded with outside stimuli, but as your attention drifts away and inward, they become more real and solid, for lack of a better word. I figure when we fall asleep and shut ourselves off completely from the outside world, they become more solid yet, into what we call dreams.

For me, WILD'ing involves following those hypnagogia into a full on dream state, with me keeping conscious while my body falls asleep.

So basically, in my opinion, yes they are dreams, but we're just not in the right state to experience them as such yet
