Question 4 years has passed since i started - I still didn't experience a REAL lucid dream.

Hello DV community, i know the forum says i have been registered for 1 or 2 years, but when i watched my first dream journal recording
it was from 2012, so yeah, i started 4 years ago, and i still didn't got to experience the REAL lucid dream, maybe i got the wrong concept of what this is.
But, a real lucid dream for me is to feel like real life, people keep saying it should be this what a lucid dream feels like
but most of my lucid dreams, and for some reason they happen very rarely, i'm not sure why, they don't feel
real-life like, but they feel like a normal dream instead, where i just know i'm dreaming and perform a few RCs.
And most of them are DILD, i tried, WBTB, MILD, FILD, but none of these worked for me. Also i don't like WILD very much
because it envolves Sleep paralysis. I've also been doing some daily sessions of mindfullness meditation, focusing on my breath, and i don't feel
      any difference to be honest.

Basically i just want to know how i can induce my lucid dreams more often, and not like 1 per 2 months
      like it is happening actually.

Sorry to make this long post, but i need some opinions :p

Try thinking through your day in fast-rewind mode before bed within a few minutes each night for a week or two and report back...

They're definitely feel as real as waking life so you're right there.

What's been working for me. Is I think about what I wanna do in the dream and then get excited about it. While I'm walking to class daydreaming. I think about how awesome it's gonna be when I do it that night and really visualize what it will be like.

I do the same thing when I go to bed.

Remove all sense of doubt. You want to be lucid and so you will be. Whatever happened over the last 4 years doesn't matter.

      Hi,

If you are able to achieve conscious awareness during your dreams then you are already having lucid dreams. The term "Lucid Dreaming" just means that you have the ability to become aware that you are dreaming whilst you are dreaming. There are varying degrees of lucidity and, from what you have described in your post, you are experiencing what some refer to as semi-lucid or half-lucid dreams, but all the same they are lucid dreams. Don't get too down hearted by not being able to achieve extraordinary vividness in you lucid dreams, as for most people it takes years of practice to attain high levels of lucidity and you proceed as your abilities and control develop. Attempting a lot of different induction methods can have it's drawbacks, not least on the quality of you sleep. I would say it's better to concentrate on one method only and in your case I would advise you to focus on DILD as this is the easiest method. Having one lucid dream every eight weeks is better than having none at all so you have something to build on there. I would though advise you to go back to basics and if you haven't already done so I would recommend that you read some of the quality literature that is available on the subject and take it from there.

      Good luck with it
