      Finding it hard

Ive been finding it really hard to gain lucid dreams, I dream alot but can never become lucid in any its like I fall asleep then wake up the next morning but I know I can remeber what I did in my dream perfect, acutally I see my dream when Im asleep.. really I dont know which way it goes.. either I have the mental image in my head when I wake up or I sleep have the dream see it then wake up. Anyone able to explain this part to me?

Anyways I do reality checks all the time when im awake but it hasnt moved into my dreams yet. My dream journal hasnt started yet, i've been alcking on that one greatly but I plan to start tomorrow morning. I just feel lost, I dont know what to think before I goto sleep besides I know im going to have a lucid dream and I really do feel like im going to have one but in the end its a failure. I think maybe if I giev it time it will start to happen but the times been awhile now already. Any tips out there from people who where in my position before?

      Hello,

Definatly start a dream journal. Even if you don't go lucid for a long time it is fun to go back and read them. Just don't give up, keep trying but don't become completly consumed with trying to have a lucid dream. If all else fails try to get away from the topic completly for a few days and see if that works. I know my first.....or rather my only lucid dream happened after I had a cold and had no recall so I stopped trying for about a week, and poof, lucid dream. Try reading about lucid dreaming right before you go to bed. So far I haven't found that repeating some phrase over and over to my self helps that much because my mind always begins to wander.

I hope this helps a bit,

      Nick

Hey heres a tip to help you remember your dreams. Usually (unless you wake very rapidly) there is a period of time where your almost awake but not quiet. This is the best time to review your dream in your head. Try and remember everything about it and try to engrain it in your head before you fully awake. By the time you are awake youll remember what your dream was about. The dream journal helps you identify DreamSigns (in my last dream journal i identified a huge dream sign, ^_^ i shot a guy with a colt and it just left a small red mark, youd think thatd be a easy sign huh :-).

Hey bud! When I first started it was hard and I couldnt find what technique would work. Try going to bed VERY tired and keep the idea of lucid dreaming on the fringe of your mind, do not get hyped about it or anything, just accept it as a thing that might or might not happen. Just try to go to sleep comfortably and you should start getting some lucid dreams. Do RC's alot and keep a detailed dream journal also Good luck!
God, grant me the courage the change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference...

It's quite annoying when you look back on your dreams and go "Oh, how didn't I see that I was dreaming" when it seems so obvious. I don't know how much having a dream journal has helped me but it can't hurt to have one and It's fun to look back on dreams sometimes. You might want to check out the pharmacy and read some of the topics(there's quite a lot, note: the pharmacy is in tutorials). I've had 3 lucid dreams so far(over like....a year or two)But I've never accomplished anything in them really. Either way, good luck in becoming lucid in your dreams.

      I tink I went off topic.....=/

I know what you mean. My first ld seemed like it happened in real time while my other two seem like memories. I guess it can go either way. As for the main issue of this thread, I suggest you try wake back to bed. It worked like magic when I tried it. I had the same problem as you at first, but it solved itself after about three months. Good luck. Lol I typed all of this on a phone...
