optimize it to your brain.
If you need to keep the cycles shorter, longer or change what the cycles are focusing on to keep your focus on it, then do it! Trouble falling asleep after can mean that you need wake yourself up when starting. When waking, you can usually feel "sleep" still there, and can go back to sleep easily. The longer you are awake, the more that leaves. So yeah... how about waking up, immediately doing a few quick SSILD rounds and then back to sleep, if that doesn't seem to help, then extend the time awake over and over, but try to stay on the side of sleep so you can fall asleep (You can't LD without sleep, so always lean towards sleep).
Again, optimize it over and over to what you "feel" is working for you.
